The Chinese communist virus (Wuhan virus, New Coronavirus) is the third leading cause of death among Americans in 2020, according to a report released Wednesday (March 31) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
According to Foxnews, the CDC reported in its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report that the Chinese Communist virus was the third leading cause of death last year after heart disease and cancer.
In total, the report says, the virus killed about 375,000 people in 2020.
To prove that the CCP virus was the third leading cause of death among Americans in 2020, the CDC looked at provisional death certificate data for U.S. citizens who died between January and December 2020.
The CDC wrote, “Total deaths and COVID-19 (CCA virus) mortality rates were assessed by age, sex, and race/ethnicity (e.g., Hispanic, non-Hispanic, white, black, Asian, and other ethnicities) by category.”
In its report, the federal agency determined that approximately 91 percent of COVID-19-related deaths in 2020 were directly attributable to COVID-19. overall age-adjusted mortality in 2020, an increase of 15.9 percent.
In the disaggregated statistics, the CDC revealed that “non-Hispanic blacks, non-Hispanic American Indians, or Alaska Natives had the highest total number of deaths.” The center also noted that Hispanics had the highest mortality rate after contracting the CDC virus. Men and older adults (i.e., 85 years of age or older) also had the highest mortality rates after contracting the CCA virus.
The CDC said these findings support the accuracy of the use of official death certificates for surveillance of deaths due to the CCP virus in the United States.
CDC concluded, “These data can be used to guide public health policy and response, interventions aimed at reducing the number of deaths directly or indirectly associated with the COVID-19 outbreak and among the most severely affected populations, including those who are elderly, male, or racial/ethnic minorities with high mortality rates. ”
