The “Vulgar Wiki” case, which was triggered by the leak of Xi Mingze’s personal information, resulted in heavy sentences for 24 young people. However, the main culprit of the case, Gu Yang Yang, the director of the Shanghai station of “Vulgar Wiki,” was released after a brief arrest and has fled overseas.
Recently, a source close to the case disclosed to Voice of Hope records, allegedly from within public security, showing that Gu Yang Yang was listed by police as a “criminal fugitive” and was captured in Shanghai on Oct. 14, 2019.

A record provided by the informant shows that on October 15, 2019, Gu Yang Yang Yang took a train from Guangdong South Station to Maoming. Presumably, Gu Yang Yang was arrested by the police and escorted to Maoming by rail.

Another record shows that Gu Yang Yang stayed at the International Hotel in Maoming from Feb. 19-March 1, 2020. The source said that after being released by the police, Gu Yang Yang returned to Maoming “to make an unspecified deal with the case officer. It is not yet possible to confirm this speculation.

It is reported that Gu Yang Yang’s father is an official of the Shanghai Education Bureau and his mother is an executive of Ali Group’s Ant Financial Services. It was previously rumored that Gu Yang Yang’s Parents bribed the Guangdong Public Security Bureau with as much as tens of millions of dollars and that his Family sent him overseas immediately after he was released.
In addition to Gu Yang Yang, a number of other young people involved in the case were also released for bribing the police handling the case. One released young man told the parents of a convicted young man that his own parents had also sent money to Yang Guangyao. Yang is the chief of the Maoming Public Security Bureau’s Maonan Branch Network Security Division, which is in charge of the case.
The young man said, “In fact, we are heavier than Niu Tengyu, we stuffed money, let them do not engage me, and then they opened the computer, a symbolic look at the equipment released, they said to the upper report, all cleared, not clear, and then the case was closed.”
He also revealed that in order to shield Gu Yang Yang, the Maoming police split Gu’s case into several people, one called Konpaku, one called Mr. K, and one called Gu Yang Yang, all actually one person, and the case file was written in a mess.
In addition, Xiao Yanrui, founder of the “Vicious Wiki” website and currently in Japan, also said earlier to the foreign media that the Maoming police had submitted the yin and yang documents and the main culprit had changed from Gu Yang Yang to Niu Teng Yu.
The above-mentioned informant also told Voice of Hope that many parents of the convicted youngsters questioned Yang Guangyao, “How can Gu Yang Yang, as the actual controller of the (vile wiki website), be released, but how can our children not be released?”
Yang Guangyao replied that it was because Gu Yangyang had reported the children.
The informant said, “You designate these children as a black and evil group, which has the head of the black and evil forces to testify to release him, the head can be released? All the children in court reported Gu Yang Yang, then how not to release other children? This logic is so ridiculous.”
The children, who did not have the money to bribe the police, were tortured and abused in prison. According to Niu Tengyu’s lawyer, when Niu Tengyu was imprisoned in Foshan, he was tortured by burning his private parts and being hung. Niu Tengyu was beaten and hospitalized, his right hand was disabled, and two fingers were neurologically necrotic.
Ten parents of the “Vicious Wiki” case published an open letter earlier, pointing out that the verdict was full of loopholes and injustice, and that the 24 young people had become scapegoats for the political case, which would become a great shame in the history of Chinese law. The case is now being exposed through the media and has sparked international attention, with the U.S., German and other embassies in China expressing concern.
