A week after U.S. Defense Secretary Austin’s visit to India, India and the United States launched joint military exercises in the eastern Indian Ocean on March 28 and 29 in response to provocative activities by the Chinese Communist Navy in the Indo-Pacific region.
An Indian Navy spokesman tweeted that the Indian Air Force was sending warplanes to participate for the first Time. India’s own patrol ship, the USS Shivalik, and the USS Roosevelt aircraft carrier battle group participated in the joint military exercise. This shows that India is committed to promote the tri-service joint warfare.
