Authorities did not disclose details about the suspects’ motive for the crime.
Police told AFP that one of the victims had died; authorities are still identifying the dead.
The Canadian Television Corporation (CTV) aired a video showing the arrest of the suspect, who appears to have stabbed himself in the leg before he collapsed and was restrained by several police officers.
According to an emergency medical services spokesman earlier, six people were taken to hospital; but declined to disclose the extent of their injuries.

Sheila Dyson, a witness at the scene, told Canadian television that she saw a man attack a woman with a knife; there appeared to be no connection between the two and the attack appeared to be random.
A resident who lives 500 meters from the library told AFP that the area around the incident is always very quiet.
He said, “I saw the paramedics approaching the injured, giving first aid by the car and the restaurant, and then carrying them on stretchers.”
He said it was sad, especially since one of the victims was apparently a child. He added that his brother man was in the library 30 minutes before the incident.
Forensics officers are taking evidence in a knife attack near a library in Vancouver on the 27th.
