Because of the “Xinjiang cotton” controversy, China’s Pinky out H & M and other international clothing brands, Taiwanese artists Ouyang Nana, Luo Zhixiang, Peng Yu Yan, Zhang Junning, Xu Guanghan, etc., have also issued a statement in support of the “Xinjiang cotton”. Political commentator Li Zhenghao explained that the “sweat cotton” in Xinjiang emerged because of the need to supply funds to the “Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps” and to increase the persecution of Uighurs.

In his “94 to Call” interview, Li Zhenghao explained that Xinjiang cotton is regarded as “sweat cotton”, leading to the boycott of international manufacturers, not because of the sweat of the production and harvesting process, but because it has become the source of funding for the Xinjiang Construction and Production Corps. Xinjiang Production Corps, a four-pronged organization of the Communist Party, the government, the military and the enterprises, is financed by one-third of the cotton. These funds are invested in “Xinjiang re-Education camps,” where Xinjiang Muslims are forced to eat pork, learn Chinese, and, according to a BBC report, “systematically sexually assault” their children to become Chinese rather than Uighurs. If Xinjiang people marry and become pregnant, they will be forced to abort and have their babies tied up, resulting in a 50 percent reduction in Xinjiang’s birth rate from 2017-2019. The U.S. and the European Union have determined that this is “genocide,” according to Li.
