Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) under former President Trump, said in an interview with CNN that he believes the New Coronavirus (the Chinese Communist virus) came out of the Wuhan laboratory. He said: “This is my own opinion. It’s just a personal opinion. Now I am allowed to have a personal opinion.”
In an interview, Rifed said the new coronavirus should have been circulating in Hubei province since September or October 2019.
Refield served as CDC director from 2018 until the end of Trump’s term. Raffield is currently serving as a senior public health advisor to Republican Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, who is responsible for the Maryland outbreak response.
During the interview, Raffield said of the origin of the new coronavirus, “My view is that the most plausible claim that this pathogen emerged in Wuhan, I still think, is that it came from the laboratory, from the laboratory. Others don’t buy that argument, and that’s OK. Science will eventually find the answer.”
He said it is “not uncommon” for respiratory pathogens studied in the lab to cause infections in lab personnel.
In an interview, Raffield said his personal views on the origin of the virus do not mean that the outflow of the virus was “deliberate” by the Chinese government. He said he did not believe the virus was transmitted from bats to humans and later became a highly contagious virus that could be passed from person to person.
He said that when a pathogen is transmitted from an animal to a human, it takes Time for the virus to find a way to be transmitted effectively from human to human, and “to use this model to explain the origin of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) does not make sense from a biological point of view.
Rifed points out that the virus is infectiously strong if it is cultured in the laboratory, then it can be explained. For example, he said, “Let’s say I have a coronavirus at hand that I’m working on, and a lot of lab people are working on culturing the virus, and we want to make it more potent so we can start research and gain further understanding. That’s how I see the problem.”
