Alibaba establishes Chinese Communist Party Committee.
Alibaba (Beijing) Software Services Co., Ltd. officially established a Communist Party committee on March 24, official media revealed.
The Beijing Daily client reported the news today.
Almost all of China’s Internet companies are private enterprises, but still none dare to ignore the so-called party building. Baidu and Tencent set up party committees as early as 2011. Alibaba Group was the first to elevate its party branch to a party committee. Shao Xiaofeng, secretary of its party committee, served in the Ministry of Public Security of the Communist Party of China.
Since 2016, Alibaba has been implementing a “dual headquarters” strategy in Beijing and Hangzhou, with the group’s headquarters and its cultural and entertainment, health and Gao De headquarters located in Chaoyang.
The Beijing Daily said the Alibaba Beijing Headquarters Party Committee was established with organizational ties under the Chaoyang Park Working Committee of the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park of the Chaoyang District Committee of the Communist Party of China. Immediately after the inaugural meeting, the Alibaba (Beijing) Software Services Ltd. CPC Committee organized its first collective study of party history, asking Professor Li Haiqing of the Marxist School of the CPC Central Party School to give a so-called special lecture.
As a Chinese business giant, Alibaba, like Tencent, has been facing the threat of being owned by the Communist Party in recent years. For example, in mid-2019, Hao Peng, secretary of the Party Committee and director of the Communist Party’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, met with Ma Yun and Ma Huateng to accelerate the “central enterprises + Internet” hybrid reform model, which is considered to be a public-private partnership in disguise. The “two horses” may have to be “picked”.
Incomplete statistics found that the country has 1,585,000 non-public enterprise legal entities have established the Communist Party organization, Jingdong party members as many as 10,730, the establishment of 154 party branches in the country, Huayi Brothers also announced the establishment of the Communist Party Committee in 2019. The outside world speculates: the rich list may become the “kill list”.
Current affairs commentator Samp has analyzed the tide of the establishment of party committees for Internet enterprises: these so-called mainland private enterprises are party enterprises, controlled and manipulated by the party, and the reason for the CPC to strengthen the leadership of the party is that the CPC is now short of money and needs to further take these science and technology network giants to control the listed companies in name, “there was still some say, but now the party is making decisions “.
After the official announcement of the establishment of the Communist Party Committee at Ali’s Beijing headquarters, netizens debated, “Alibaba finally has a secretary, where are the Forty Thieves?” “In addition to the nationals are leeks, private companies also have to surrender their heads, willing to do large leeks, dedicated to the awesome organization.” “Party Culture, party world, eat, drink, shit, can not be separated from the party, a veritable party state.”
Others asked, “Is Ali going to be delisted from the U.S.?”
Just on March 24, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announced that it was preparing to expel foreign companies from the stock exchange that did not comply with U.S. auditing standards, while requiring foreign companies to declare the names of Communist Party members serving at the top.25 Chinese technology stocks listed in the U.S. and Hong Kong fell sharply, including Alibaba.
