Variant virus spreads again AstraZeneca lowers vaccine effectiveness

As of March 25, more than 125.2 million people worldwide have been infected with the CCP virus and 2.75 million have died, with the United States accounting for nearly one-third of global infections. In Europe and South America, variants of the virus originating in the United Kingdom and Brazil, respectively, are leading new outbreaks.

The number of people infected with the Communist virus in the United States has topped 30 million and 546,000 have died. Starting this week, Florida allowed people over 40 to be vaccinated against the CCP virus and opened the vaccination to all adults over 18 after April 5.

New Jersey has new rules that give businesses the right to require employees, to be vaccinated before they can enter the workplace, but employees can be exempted for disability, pregnancy, breastfeeding or religious reasons.

AstraZeneca on Thursday revised data from a major U.S. clinical trial after health authorities revealed it used “outdated data,” lowering the effectiveness of the vaccine from 79 percent to 76 percent against the Chinese communist virus, but still achieving 100 percent efficacy in critically ill and hospitalized patients.

The day after Germany announced it was lifting its Easter blockade plan, there was a sharp spike in new cases, with 22,657 confirmed and 228 deaths.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel: “Cases are again rising rapidly across Europe, more than half a million people have lost their lives in the EU so far, and the damage to the economy is enormous.”

Poland reported a record 34,151 new cases on Thursday, with the British variant of the virus the main reason for the rapidly worsening outbreak. Polish authorities announced more restrictions that day, closing kindergartens and barbershops before Easter while limiting church services.

The Brazilian variant of the virus is spreading rapidly in Peru, where new cases reached 11,260 on Thursday, the highest single-day record, and forcing the country to impose another tough lockdown. Investigations show that 40 percent of cases in Lima are of the Brazilian variant of the virus. The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) said the more contagious Brazilian variant of the virus, which has emerged in 15 American countries, is becoming the dominant virus.

India continues to see a surge in cases, with 53,476 new confirmed cases on Thursday, a new single-day record in five months, and 31,855 infections in Maharashtra alone. The capital, New Delhi, began random virus testing at all bus stations, railway stations and entry points such as the airport. As of Thursday, the cumulative number of infections in India surpassed 11.8 million, with more than 160,000 deaths.

The torch relay for the Tokyo Olympics officially began in Fukushima on March 25. To avoid spreading the virus, there will be no spectators along the first leg of the relay. In the next four months, nearly 10,000 athletes will carry the Olympic torch across Japan’s 47 prefectures and islands.
