U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) said in an interview with Breitbart News on Tuesday (March 23) that the Democrats’ Amnesty proposal, if passed, would add 100 million citizens to the United States in the next 10 to 20 years. This will greatly attract illegal immigrants to the United States, thus causing serious social problems. Amnesty for illegal immigrants is certainly a “power play” for socialists.
In response to a question from Alex Marlow, host of Breitbart News Daily, Brooks said, “What the socialists want to do is …… Push amnesty through the U.S. Congress. Their argument is that it somehow solves the (immigration) problem.” “Any rational person knows that that only makes the problem worse. when President Reagan and the Democrats instituted amnesty in 1986, they promised to provide border security. But that amnesty was tantamount to telling the world, ‘Hey, break into the United States of America. We’re not going to enforce our laws.'”
Brooks, now a Republican congressman from Alabama, said, “In 1986 it was a problem of 2-3 million (illegal immigrants), today it’s a problem of 15 million or 20 million (illegal immigrants). (If) we grant amnesty today, in 10, 20 years it will be a problem of hundreds of millions of people.”
Brooks added that some Democrats and their political allies support illegal immigration and implement “open borders policies” in an attempt to create a permanent, welfare-dependent electorate. “(Some) socialist Democrats want to import illegal immigrants in large numbers. Because government welfare data shows that families with illegal immigrants are more likely to receive welfare than the average U.S. citizen, or even legal immigrant,” Brooks noted.
He continued, “What that means is that over Time, if you can get these (illegal immigrant) families amnesty and citizenship – that’s one of the core promises of socialist President Biden. You may remember the October 22nd (2020) presidential debate, (Biden said) ‘I’m going to give them all amnesty and citizenship.’ Well, if you can give them citizenship and they have the right to vote, then all of a sudden you have a whole bunch of welfare recipients who are going to start voting Democrat.”
Brooks determined that “this is a power play by socialists – a very crude power play because it’s an effort by them to consolidate their dictatorship.”
Brooks believes that thousands of Americans are killed each year by illegal immigrants and drugs smuggled across the southern border. He said, “According to federal crime data, about 2,000 Americans die each year at the hands of illegal aliens killed on U.S. soil. These are real numbers. That’s a big number. Of course, the fake news media won’t publish it, but you can find it in the federal crime data, which is about 2,000 per year.”
He also talks about, “30,000 Americans die each year because of deadly narcotics smuggled across the southern border …… These deaths are caused by the Socialist Democrats’ open border strategy …… But in a world supported by socialist Democrats and the fake news media, the general public doesn’t understand the dangers.”
Brooks explained that Democrats have driven some voters to be perpetually underclassed, so depressing wages through the influx of low-skilled workers. This is the main cause of the current state of illegal immigration.
“It’s a very simple thing. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is trying to buy cheap labor. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce (US Chamber) and its members don’t want to pay the prices that market conditions demand in order to hire American workers, so they try to artificially inflate the labor supply, which in turn artificially depresses wages for American families who are struggling to make ends meet.” “This has caused tremendous harm to American families.”
He concluded, “Unfortunately, what we’re getting is a double whammy. We have the socialist Democrats on the one hand, who are doing this purely for political gain; and on the other hand we have the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s all-bank-funded campaign …… because they want to make bigger profits and don’t care about the suffering of poor struggling American families.”
On Monday, Brooks officially announced his candidacy for Alabama’s U.S. Senate seat in 2022.
