The audio of the conversation between Zheng Shuang and his lawyer was revealed. The lawyer asked Zheng Shuang if he knew where the child was from January to June 2020. Zheng Shuang said he did not know.
The lawyer asked, “When did you first know about the child?” Zheng Shuang said he received an email about the child on July 24 of last year. The email contained the date of birth and location of the child. A letter about relinquishing custody was also received. Zheng Shuang then also said that he could not accept custody because it was the first Time he received information about the child.

The case of custody between Zheng Shuang and Zhang Heng started at 22:30 Beijing time on March 22nd in Denver, USA. The trial was shown through a live webcast and Zheng Shuang attended the trial. During the court hearing, Zheng Shuang admitted to having two children with Zhang Heng, a boy Lucas born on December 19, 2019 and a girl Luna born on January 4, 2020.
Zheng Shuang said he is now in an apartment in Denver, Colorado, with a visa that allows him to stay for six months and currently has no plans regarding his acting career, “It’s up to me now to make arrangements for my own children.” Zheng Shuang also revealed that he has been in a relationship with Zhang Heng for a year and a half because he was on a diet when he was young, so he had a bad heart and was afraid that giving birth in person would involve some risks, not out of professional considerations. Since her health did not allow her to give birth, she decided together with Zhang Heng to have a surrogate and contacted relevant agencies.
The two began discussing Surrogacy in December 2018, and after searching some information online and making comparisons, they chose two surrogacy agencies located in California. Himself and Zhang Heng terminated their relationship on September 27, 2019, and there were no specific plans regarding the children, only discussions: “They will be allowed to return to China and raised by us together, and Zhang Heng agreed to such a decision.”
Zheng said that on September 27, 2019, with Zhang Heng’s permission, Zheng looked at Zhang Heng’s phone, which contained many contents that made her sad, and she doubted Zhang Heng’s feelings for her, as well as she found out about some of Zhang Heng’s relationships with other girls, which made her start to shake. She thought about stopping the surrogacy and made inquiries via email about terminating the surrogacy, giving it away, and adopting it, but she did not make any decision to adopt it as well as stop it.
