Russian foreign minister visited China black mask printed indecent words

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, on a visit to China today, wore a mask that may be inappropriate for a diplomatic setting, a black mask with the unflattering words FCKNG QRNTN (damn segregation) emblazoned on its top.

According to images tweeted by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov wore the mask on an informal occasion during his visit to the southern Chinese city of Guilin.

The Russian news agency RIA reported that journalists accompanying Lavrov on his visit gave him the mask as a birthday present on his 71st birthday yesterday, saying it would show the wearer’s attitude toward global quarantine measures.

However, according to other images released by Moscow authorities, Lavrov was wearing a plain surgical mask when he met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Unlike many countries, Russia has refused to re-impose a blockade against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), with President Vladimir Putin stressing that Life in Moscow turned online without disruption.

Russian state TV host Dmitry Kiselyov praised Lavrov for wearing the mask. He said on the encrypted communication soft Telegram, “Russia’s prevention is better than in other Western countries, and this minister’s move is an attempt to express his attitude to everyone who preaches against Russia.”
