Net rumors of another “Cultural Revolution“-style trial parade in Guangxi Province. (Video screenshot)
Recently, the photos of a Cultural Revolution-style public trial of migrant workers in Langzhong, Sichuan, five years ago, are again circulating on the Internet. In the past five years, the tragedy of migrant workers’ wage claims has become more frequent, and the Cultural Revolution-style trial meetings and parades are still being held. These phenomena are said to expose the rogue nature of the Chinese Communist Party and its ruling crisis.
On March 18, many netizens posted screenshots of the March 18, 2016, Langzhong City Jiangnan Township’s centralized public sentencing of eight migrant workers who were demanding their wages by the Langzhong Court. In the screenshot, each of the eight migrant workers was escorted by two Chinese Communist Party police officers on their arms to a makeshift “trial stage”, which was guarded by heavily armed police officers and surrounded by a large number of onlookers from different villages. The scene was as if back in the “Cultural Revolution era” of the public sentencing conference.
Zhou Chengzhu, a citizen of Wuhan, Hubei, posted, “Today, we feel incredible about the first thirty years; in another thirty years, we will feel incredible about today!” He also included a photo of a black and white criticism from the Cultural Revolution for comparison.
Beijing bureau observer Hua Po posted that the March 16, 2016 public sentencing conference held by a court in Langzhong, Sichuan, opened an era of “illegal wage collection and good-faith unpaid wages.
Back then, mainland lawyers were mostly negative about public sentencing conferences, saying that “public sentencing conferences are incompatible with human rights protection” and that the criminal procedure law does not provide for such a public sentencing method.
The media has also found that similar public sentencing conferences have been held in many places. For example, on October 17, 2014, Hunan Huarong County held a county-wide public arrest and sentencing conference; on June 26, 2015, Guangdong Lufeng held a public sentencing conference for 10,000 people on International Drug Control Day, etc., etc.
Recently, the net rumor is that Guangxi again occurred in the Cultural Revolution-style trial parade. In the video uploaded by netizens, loaded police officers escorting eight prisoners wearing black hoods and shackles appeared in the city streets, and someone videotaped the whole thing. The people and the police were dressed in long clothes and pants, while several of the prisoners were wearing shorts and bare calves.
The video is somewhat blurred and the exact date is not known, but the police officers are all wearing masks, presumably since last year’s Epidemic parade video.
Netizens said, “It hurts! The Cultural Revolution is back!” “Destruction of humanity, no evil.” “The parade to protest the government is banned, the one that victimizes human rights is not.”
“The televised confession after Xi came to power is an electronic public trial, which is also a kind of keeping up with the times, just like the old lady with small feet replaced with electronic surveillance. Times are different ……”
In an interview with the Epoch Times, Dong Guangping, a mainland democracy publicist, said that authoritarian regimes such as the Chinese Communist Party prefer to take this approach to deter people, and that the Communist Party authoritarian regime has never taken human rights seriously and has never respected them. Since many people’s discontent with the Communist Party is now exploding, it has to strongly suppress the people’s discontent.
“The unpaid wages of migrant workers is only one aspect. Now there are also a lot of demolition ah, housing prices ah, all occurring dissatisfaction with the Communist Party, the public discontent is growing, the Communist Party is afraid of this. When the people are up in discontent, its rule will not be solid and stable.” He said.
In recent years, the problem of unpaid wages for migrant workers in mainland China has intensified, and the Communist Party has cracked down on people on the pretext of “strictly cracking down on demanding money for construction projects in the name of collecting wages” and “maliciously collecting wages. Due to the lack of hope in collecting wages, there are frequent tragedies in which the workers have been killed or have died.
Dong Guangping pointed out that this is where the Communist Party is evil, very evil. The Communist Party has no rule of law, no respect for the rule of law, and it does not abide by any of the laws it has established, such as the labor law, the labor protection law, the pressure of construction money, all the laws, but it just does not enforce them. This is the rogue of the Communist Party, what it said can not count.
“It is because of its nonsense that it has caused many, many social problems.” He said, “It is afraid that all the migrant workers will rise up in rebellion, that those who are discontented will rise up against it, so it resorts to this kind of repression and brings out this previous set again.”
Dong Guangping said, “The CCP is now arresting people, dissidents, disgruntled people and online ‘rumor-mongers’ and conducting public sentences everywhere, all of which are a series of measures taken by the Communist Party to maintain its rule and its regime. This is the crisis it deeply feels, the crisis of its rule.”
Communist Party suppresses vulnerable groups
Migrant workers are owed back wages, but the Chinese Communist Party’s laws do not protect them. According to media reports, a mainland migrant worker, Le Dianping, demanded 359,849.50 yuan in wages owed to him for two years and took the construction company, developer and contractor to court, only to have the Supreme Court rule that the migrant workers (the crew) are not actual constructors in the legal sense and have no right to directly demand payment for their labor from the contractor.
Mr. Zhao, a migrant worker from Shandong, told New Tang Dynasty earlier, “He is the party that bullies the vulnerable, and now it is very difficult and hard to collect wages, and almost all of them (are said to be) malicious to collect wages, which are not legal.” “The economy is also worse than a year, real estate, not to mention the rotten, is built to sell, the money does not necessarily come to hand.”
Dong Guangping said that in the eyes of the Communist Party, there is no such thing as a disadvantaged group or not, whatever is not conducive to Communist Party rule, it is suppressed.
“This vulnerable group is a fair and just society inside, compared to the vulnerable. The Communist Party does not recognize this thing, it recognizes the only one is that it wants to rule, it wants to gain power. The only thing it recognizes is that it wants to rule, it wants to gain power. Other than that, it doesn’t care what disadvantaged groups, what popular groups, NGOs, it doesn’t care about you.”
“It’s useless to talk to the Communist Party about vulnerable groups. It’s useless to talk to the Communist Party about law, rule of law, protection of vulnerable groups, protection of human rights, all these things. He said.
Dong Guangping believes that those who have the ability and the means should rise up to do something against the Communist Party and fight for their rights; for those who are not willing to rise up, don’t accuse others, it’s not wrong to hide from the front for a while. Individuals have their own circumstances. Although the Communist Party uses all kinds of rogue methods to implement its reign of terror, it will come to an end one day, when the people have really come to their senses and risen up.
“Because now it’s different from the past, now information is developed; and now young people know about human rights and demand freedom and democracy, and now young people know about human rights and the world situation, and they are slowly seeing clearly the nature of the Communist Party.” He said, “In the end, the Communist Party’s rule is definitely finished, this is the general trend. The Communist Party wants to maintain its rule for 200 or 100 years, that’s nonsense, it’s impossible.”
