In 2006, a group of female police officers on routine patrol in Chongqing.
The case of a female auxiliary police officer in Jiangsu who “blackmailed” nine officials was heavily sentenced and continues to ferment. Public opinion mocked this case as a case of “Ximenqing suing Pan Jinlian” and overwhelmingly condemned the officials involved for bullying others. A prosecutor recently published an article on the Internet, saying that the female auxiliary police officer was not guilty. The official media also made a rare request to the court to give a fair decision. Some analysts say that the case is suspected to have alerted the top brass, the future fear of a reversal.
Xu Yan, a 26-year-old female auxiliary police officer in Jiangsu Province, was accused of having an affair with nine Chinese Communist Party officials, including two deputy directors of local public security bureaus, two police station chiefs and the deputy director of a health hospital, and “extorted” 3.72 million yuan on the grounds of pregnancy and breakup compensation.
At the end of last year, a court in Gounan County, Jiangsu Province, sentenced Xu Yan to 13 years in prison and a fine of 5 million yuan for extortion and blackmail. The verdict of the case recently surfaced on the Internet, and the related topic has been read by more than 100 million people on Sina Weibo, but public opinion is almost unanimously condemning the Chinese Communist Party officials involved in the case.
Some netizens mocked that it was “a large group of Ximenqing who sued Pan Jinlian!”
Others believe that the female auxiliary police officer was victimized by the “subterfuge” of the Chinese Communist Party’s officialdom, and that “the gang is too ruthless to take away her Family‘s assets and never get back on her feet.”
Mr. Liu, a mainlander, told New Tang Dynasty: “She is only an auxiliary police officer, others are official police officers, and have the title of chief or deputy director, how can they be blackmailed? He gave money, which can only be said to be willingly.”
Lai Jianping, a master of international law at China University of Political Science and Law, said the case shows official arrogance, a kind of official bullying of the vulnerable that turns black and white upside down.
Xu Yan’s father said in a March 17 interview with Red Star News that the officials “bullied” and “toyed” with his daughter, “it was them who made the mistake, and they can’t hold the shit on my daughter’s head alone. “
Xu’s father said, “they gave my daughter the money, is voluntarily give the loss of youth, how can be said to be extortion? If it is said that my daughter extortion, why they did not call the police at that Time? Some of them are the police.”
Xu Yan has now appealed, and Xu’s father hopes the court will be fair in the second trial. But the story has been deleted.
Hunan prosecutor Xiao Youliang recently published an article on the Internet, saying bluntly that Xu Yan was not guilty and that the first trial verdict was a disgrace and a serious political mistake.
The article points out that the verdict of the case is a declaration to the public that the law protects the white sleeping behavior of public officials (four of them are leaders within the Public Security Bureau) to other girls. The public officials slept with people girls, want to give how much money, can be free, the girl if you dare to ask for more, is extortion crime. The article has now also been deleted.
The case of the female auxiliary police officer continues to ferment, triggering great public discontent with the abuse of public power by the Communist Party’s public prosecution officials. Under the pressure of public opinion, the court of Gounan County has withdrawn the first trial verdict on March 12, saying that the case is in the second trial and the first trial verdict is not yet effective and should not be published on the interwebs.
On the 18th, the Chinese Communist Party’s Xinhua News Agency posted an article in its “Xinhua Viewpoint” column, asking the court to publicly answer questions and “give the public a satisfactory answer!” It also said that the relevant departments should not delete the post on this incident.
The Free Times quoted commentators as analyzing that the rare release of words from the official media has released signals that the case may lead to high-level intervention in the future, and that a surprising reversal of the case cannot be ruled out.
The authorities are currently carrying out a major purge of the political and legal system, and a large number of public security officials have fallen from grace, and the officials associated with this female auxiliary police officer may thus attract attention from above.
However, the female auxiliary police officer Xu Yan has been imprisoned for more than 2 years since 2019. In the case before the truth is revealed, she will not appear to “drink water death”, “dream death” and other accidents, so that the outside world worry.
