After the news of the 90-year-old female auxiliary police officer in Jiangsu being sentenced to 13 years in prison for extorting and blackmailing nine officials came to light, netizens generally thought the case was strange and teased “a large group of Ximenqing sued Pan Jinlian!” Even the Chinese Communist Party media recently asked the local court to give the public an account. Some analysts believe that the party media has released a signal that the case may lead to high-level intervention in the future, not ruling out a more alarming reversal.
According to reports in the Chinese media, Xu Yan, a 90-year-old female auxiliary police officer in Jiangsu province, had an affair with several officials from the age of 19 and extorted 3.726 million yuan (RMB) from a total of nine Chinese Communist Party officials, including four public security officials. After the incident, the court sentenced Xu Yan to 13 years in prison and a fine of 5 million yuan, while recovering the illegal proceeds.
On March 11, mainland lawyer Zhang New Year retweeted the verdict of the “female auxiliary police officer extortion case” on Weibo and publicly questioned whether Xu Yan could claim compensation for physical or psychological damage.
Two or three minutes after the verdict was released, Zhang received a call from the net police in Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, asking him to delete the post as soon as possible, but he refused.
Zhang New Year posted on Weibo again, “This case has shocked me. But these blackmailed people, they are ‘victims’ in this administrative verdict, but let’s not forget his public office status.”
The verdict exposed by Zhang New Year shows that Xu, a female auxiliary police officer of Lianyungang Public Security Bureau’s Haizhou Branch, extorted a total of 3.726 million yuan from a number of public officials between March 2014 and April 2019 after having inappropriate gender relations with them.
On December 29, 2020, the court of Lianyungang Gounan County sentenced Xu Mou to 13 years in prison and a fine of 5 million yuan, and recovered more than 3.72 million yuan of Xu Mou’s illegal income.
The verdict shows that these so-called “victims”, including the deputy director of the Public Security Bureau, the police station chief, the deputy director of the health hospital and at least nine other officials.

After a large number of netizens have been able to draw out the facts of the case as published in the verdict, a consensus has quickly emerged on the Internet, almost overwhelmingly suggesting that there is something else going on in the extortion case, and demanding that the second trial of the case not be held at the Lianyun City Intermediate Court, the higher court in Gounan, otherwise it would be difficult to win people’s trust.

The court of Gounan County withdrew the first trial verdict
On March 12, the propaganda department of the Party committee of Qunan County, Lianyungang City, made an urgent response to the public opinion, saying that seven public officials involved in the case in the county had been disciplined, but did not specifically disclose whether the people involved in the case were sanctioned by law.
The same evening, the court in Gounan County issued another announcement that: Xu appealed within the statutory appeal period, the case is currently in the second trial, the first trial verdict is not in effect, should not be published on the Internet, so it was withdrawn.

On March 18, the Free Times quoted commentators as saying that, according to the verdict, Xu Yan, who was born in 1994, was only 19 when she first blackmailed a public security official, so how could such a young girl have the heart and guts to blackmail the powerful chief of her work unit for millions of yuan?
