The National Institute of Environmental Science (NIES) Air Quality Forecast Center in South Korea pointed out today (17) that the air quality in many places is quite bad today due to the continued impact of dust storms in China, and the air quality in Seoul is expected to continue to be “bad” tomorrow.
According to the Yonhap News Agency, the National Institute of Environmental Science’s Comprehensive Air Quality Forecast Center pointed out that the air quality in Seoul, Chungnam, Sejong, Incheon, Daejeon, and Daegu is quite bad this afternoon, and the PM10 concentration per square meter is over 90㎍.
The center explained that the impact of Chinese dust storms that have been continuing in South Korea since the 16th, most areas in central and western South Korea have high concentrations of fine dust (PM10) in the air, but PM2.5 concentrations are still at good levels today.
The center forecasted that the air quality in Seoul, southern Gyeonggi-do and Chungnam-myung (18th) is expected to be “poor” while other areas will be “normal” due to the residual dust and air stagnation.
