Chinese made pinhole video recorder appears in ticket counter Pakistan Senate explodes

The Basestan Senate elected its speaker and vice speaker on the 12th, but Senators Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and Musadik Masood Malik caused an uproar when they discovered a Chinese-made pinhole camera directly across from the ballot box in the voting area.

Kokhar and Malik posted on Twitter the day before, attaching a photo pointing out that the pinhole camera’s lens was mounted in a screw and placed on a wooden door. The election, which was supposed to be held by secret ballot that day, was also disrupted.

Kokhar accused Pakistan’s intelligence agencies of installing a pinhole camera in the Senate ballot box to help the candidate of Prime Minister Imre Khan’s choice. He suggested that Sadiq Sanjarani, a candidate for speaker backed by the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), may have been involved. He said, “Reliable sources indicate that Sanjarani left the Senate only at 5:30 a.m. that morning.”

Senate President Sadiq Sanjarani, whose term is about to expire, faces stiff competition from Yusuf Raza Gilani, who has the backing of 11 political parties.

It is worth noting that Pakistani Prime Minister Imre Khan only recently squeaked out of a no-confidence vote in parliament. As pressure from the opposition grows stronger, Imre Khan must also retain his pro-parliamentary power.
