On the mainland’s Paradise Memorial website, a memorial for “Qiao Baoping, former chairman of the National Energy Group” was created on March 10, and currently shows that 61,377 people have gone there to pay their respects.

However, there have been no official reports of Qiao Baoping’s death.

According to public information, 66-year-old Qiao Baoping, a native of Tuzuo Banner in Inner Mongolia, was the director (minister) of the Mass Work Bureau (Party Committee’s Qun Gong Department) and the head of the United Front Work Department of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and former member of the Party Group and head of the Discipline Inspection Group of China Power Investment Corporation.

From 2008 to 2017, Qiao Baoping was transferred to China Guodian Corporation, where he served as Secretary of the Party Group, Vice General Manager and Chairman of the Board.

In November 2017, China Guodian Corporation merged with China Shenhua Group to formally establish the National Energy Group. Qiao Baoping became Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of the Board.

In March 2019, Qiao Baoping retired at his age. in March 2020, he was hired as an external director of China National Nuclear Industry Corporation.
