Shame on you! The Republican National Committee went so far as to say it was a right to use Trump’s name for fundraising, and Trump’s lawyers stepped aside

Over the weekend Trump‘s lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter to the Republican National Committee (RNC) requesting that the full RNC stop using Trump’s name and likeness for fundraising events. Letters with the same request were also sent to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). As Politico also reported exclusively on Saturday, Trump wants the groups to stop “using his name and likeness on fundraising mailings and merchandise.

Justin Riemer, chief counsel for the Republican National Committee, wrote to Trump’s lawyer Alex Cannon on Monday to tell Trump’s lawyers to shut up and that the full committee should continue to use Trump’s name for fundraising and that it was the right of the full committee to do so.

The letter, disclosed by The Boston Herald, states that the full committee “has every right to refer to public figures when engaging in core First Amendment-protected political speech activities” and that “the full committee will continue to do so in pursuit of these public goals.”

Not only that, but Rimmer, the committee’s chief counsel, insisted that Trump also “reiterated” to committee chair Ronna McDaniel over the weekend that “Trump approves of the committee’s current use of his name in fundraising and other materials, including the committee’s upcoming donor retreat in Palm Beach, and we are looking forward to President Trump’s participation in the retreat .”

The Gateway Pundit writes, think of the many small donors on fixed incomes who would think they were helping Trump, but never thought they would turn out to be helping a monster like McConnell or Cheney Jr.!

The Gateway Pundit commented that the full committee not only wants to continue to use Trump’s name for fundraising, but thinks it has every right to do so! This is just, well, outrageous!
