Wuhan Xinguang victims ask the Health and Welfare Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to: disclose the WHO expert group’s itinerary and reasons for refusing to provide data

According to a March 8 release from Chinese civil rights group Minsheng Watch, Zhang Hai, a Family member of a victim of the Wuhan New Coronavirus, sent a letter to China’s National health Commission and Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanding disclosure of the WHO expert team’s itinerary in China, as well as the reasons and basis for the Chinese government’s refusal to provide raw patient data.

According to the report, Zhang Hai had hoped to be informed of his father’s death after the WHO team arrived in Wuhan, but he was prevented from doing so because the team’s compound was quarantined by authorities and journalists were prevented from interviewing him.

In his letter requesting government information to be made public, Zhang Hai asked for the specific itinerary of the WHO expert team in China to be made public, including why the trip was planned to isolate ordinary citizens and deny access even to the media? Where exactly did the experts go? Which institutions and patients were visited? Also according to Dwyer, an Australian epidemiologist and member of the expert panel, the panel had asked the Chinese government for raw patient data on 174 cases of New Crown Pneumonia at the beginning of the outbreak in Wuhan in December 2019, but was refused by the Chinese side. Zhang Hai asked the National Health Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to publicly clarify the reasons and basis for the refusal to provide the original patient data for the 174 cases.

Zhang Hai said, “Paper can’t cover fire after all, and the truth will come out sooner or later. The Wuhan virus broke out in Wuhan, and if the government does not have a ghost in its heart, it should make public all kinds of information about the previous WHO expert group arrangements, so that the world can see whether it is reasonable and whether it is putting up obstacles or doing its best to cooperate.”
