Former President Donald Trump was seen outside Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City on Sunday night (March 7) in what is supposed to be his first return to the city since leaving office, and he is expected to leave on Tuesday (9), with local law enforcement agencies stepping up security for the occasion.
According to Fox, a black SUV pulled up outside Trump Tower around 9 p.m. Sunday, with Trump in the back seat, waving to supporters across the street. Media took photos of the scene.
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed to the media that they have been providing extra security to Trump Tower since last Saturday (6). A video showed a large number of armed police officers and police cars around Trump Tower.
The security presence around Trump Tower has been significantly reduced after Trump left office, and East 56th Street in Manhattan has been reopened to vehicular traffic. The area will be barricaded and parking will be restricted during Trump’s Time in New York City.
