The enrollment fraud case of American universities was moved into the screen.
The news also makes the homepage realize that, in a flash, the “U.S. university admissions fraud case” that set off the global Education circle earthquake, surprisingly, two years have passed.
On March 12, 2019, the fraud case was disclosed by the U.S. federal prosecutors, “manipulator” William Rick Singer (William Rick Singer) after receiving bribe money, through fraud and other illegal means to send students to the United States famous schools.
The colleges involved include, but are not limited to, Yale, Stanford, UCLA, USC, and others.
The amount involved is a staggering $25 million…
The Parents who spent money to buy “prestigious school passes” from Singh’s hands, their identities are even more staggering, not only the famous American stars, but also China’s largest “leek”, the chairman of the A-share listed company BUCHAN Pharmaceuticals, the case that shocked the world, the final 53 people were This shocking global case, the final 53 people were prosecuted, almost everyone’s Life, because of “a paper offer” has changed radically.

Two years later, what has happened to the students and parents involved in the case?
016.5 million dollars, bought a lonely
Mr. Zhao Tao, the chairman of BU Pharma, probably won’t forget Singh’s name for the rest of his life.
(The picture is Zhao Tao and Trump together)
Because he was the person involved in the “U.S. college admissions fraud case,” the most serious money spent 6.5 million dollars to send his daughter Yusi Zhao (English name Molly) to Stanford University in 2017.

The “leeks” are real “leeks”, after all, only $500,000 in Stanford’s pocket, but the $6.5 million is just a “sprinkle” for Zhao Tao.
In 2019, when the scandal was exposed, Zhao Tao’s fortune is still 31 billion RMB.

This can’t help but let the homepage to ponder, if Singh was not “outed” at that Time, will there be more rich families, willing to spend a little “small money” to send their children to prestigious schools?
Singh paid off John Vandemoer, the head sailing coach at Stanford University, to package Yusi Zhao as a sailing student and then enroll him in Stanford University.
After getting the offer from Stanford, Yusi Zhao accepted the invitation of a live broadcast platform and was busy teaching our International Students.
The poster for the live broadcast reads “U.S. high school graduate”, which is ironic in retrospect.
Not long after the scandal came to light, Yusi Zhao was expelled from Stanford University and moved out of the on-campus dormitory on March 30, 2019.
Now, two years later, Yusi Zhao has disappeared from view.
(Yusi Zhao is not found on Stanford University’s official website)
(Yusi Zhao’s LinkedIn page is also missing)
Is it true that Zhao has no ability at all? Actually, no.
With an ACT score of 33 out of 36, a TOEFL score of 111 out of 120, and a love of playing the piano, horseback riding, and art, Yusi Zhao is a well-balanced student in every sense of the word.
Without the “help” of her father, Tao Zhao, and Singh, Yusi Zhao would have been able to get into one of the top 30 universities in the U.S. with her grades.
But now she is like a “street rat”, not only being exposed by the media, but also being a student with a bad record, and her academic path is basically cut short.
(Yusi Zhao’s Baidu encyclopedia is covered by the scandal)
Although not as much as Zhao Tao, the Family of Sherry Guo, a Chinese student, also threw $1.2 million to send their daughter to Yale University through Singer, who packaged her as the captain of the women’s soccer team.
In fact duck doesn’t have to, Sherry Guo’s high school principal Eric Stroupe praised the student: “Outstanding artist, not only talented, but also very good grades.”
That is to say, this book of exams, and not necessarily not into the famous school, but make such a scene, so that Sherry Guo as early as April 10, 2019, after the Yale University disappeared, is also currently the state of no such person.
The main door does not go, but to get some side door, I do not know whether these parents are not confident in their own education, or not confident in their children?
02.4 million dollars in exchange for jail time
Packaging students as athletic specialties was Singer’s usual technique.
One Chinese parent involved, Sui Xiaoning, gave Singh $400,000 to successfully package her son as a top soccer player to send him to UCLA, and her son even received a 25% scholarship.
Ironically, Sui Xiaoning’s son can’t even play soccer.

Sui Xiaoning has given her son almost everything she has.
She moved to Canada with her son in 2015 to give him a better education, and Sui would hand wash his underwear and jerseys for him and his teammates when his tennis team competed…
Probably because she wanted her son to be a dragon, Sui had the evil idea of “taking the easy way out.
She thought that after paying the money she would be able to wait for her son to graduate with a Gold medal, but not long after she paid the final payment, Sui was accused of bribing her way into the school and in September 2019, she was arrested while traveling in Spain.
During the 157 days she spent in Spanish prison, Sui was required to stay in her cell for 15 hours a day, unable to communicate with anyone because of the language barrier, and she had to turn to medication most of the time to relieve her anxiety and insomnia.
It was not until February 2020 that Sui was extradited to the United States, where a $250,000 fine awaited her.
Her son was also expelled from school.
Sui Xiaoning paid a terrible price for her legal exploits, but why bother?
03 American star jailed, goodbye to jail from now on
Behind Singh is a huge and nefarious underground network, and this admissions fraud case also involved several American stars.
Among them, the actress Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli of “Full House” paid Singh a $500,000 bribe to send their two daughters to USC as special students in aquatic sports.
(Lori and two daughters)
These people who tried to cross the law in search of shortcuts were invariably punished by the law.
On August 21, 2020, Lori was sentenced to two months in jail, a $150,000 fine, and 100 hours of community service, while her husband Mossimo was sentenced to five months in jail, 250 hours of community service, and a $250,000 fine.
(Image source: People, pictured with Lori and husband Mossimo)
Lori was mercilessly denied visitation rights after serving her prison sentence from Oct. 30, 2020, to Dec. 28, 2020, just in time for the pandemic.
One wrong step, one wrong step, and after her release from prison, Lori lost almost all her job opportunities, and she will not appear in the final season of “House of Joy Again”.
But no matter what, Lori is still lucky compared to her husband Mossimo.
After being incarcerated on November 19, 2020, Mossimo was placed in solitary confinement for 56 days because other inmates were diagnosed with a new crown, during which time he had only three short 20-minute breaks per week.
The rest of the time, his only sphere of activity was the small cell.

Moreover, Mossimo has to take a nucleic acid test every two weeks, and even if the test results are negative, he will still be put in solitary confinement.
(Photo source: People, you can see Mossimo is haggard)
However, while her husband was serving his sentence, Lori was no better off, terrified and haunted by Nightmares all day long.
The couple paid for their mistakes, and both of their daughters, too, were confirmed by USC in October 2019 that they would no longer be enrolled, though USC has not publicly stated whether the sisters were expelled due to the protection of student privacy.
One of the sisters, Olivia Jade, was also a minor Internet celebrity before the scandal was exposed, so she was also net-stormed to the point of shutting down comments, and the brand also drew a line in the sand with Olivia as quickly as possible.

However, Olivia first responded to the scandalous controversy when she was a guest on Red Table Talk at the end of December last year.
Many netizens speculate that Olivia is plotting to clear her name so she can make a comeback. After all, she has said more than once that she wants to drop out of school and that she is more interested in partying in college.
She really doesn’t know how precious the offers from prestigious schools that other people can’t even get after years of hard work are.
Now, two years later, Olivia is still active on social media platforms and has resumed her advertising business. Although she did not continue her studies, her life now seems to be her ideal.

04 How is Singh doing?
Singh has been focusing on going through the back door for almost a decade now.
In total, he received about $25 million in bribe money from parents between 2011 and February 2019.
There are two main ways Singh “helped” students – one.
One, by bribing exam invigilators to alter test papers and take tests for students to improve their entrance exam scores.
Second, bribing university sports coaches to enroll students as sports students.
He also ran a nonprofit organization called the Key Global Foundation, which ostensibly donated money to universities while behind the scenes he was bribing and bribing to get his “clients'” children into prestigious schools.
In March 2019, Singh pleaded guilty to fraud, racketeering and money laundering.
Although Singh’s sentence has not yet been determined and his sentencing date has not yet been announced, he could face up to 65 years in prison and a fine of up to $1.25 million.
In the face of such unfair educational incidents, we must not condone them, because behind every student who got into school through bribery is a rejected but really hard-working and excellent international student.
At the end of the article, I hope you can imagine a scenario with me: if money could buy everything, what would the world be like.
If $400,000 could guarantee a place in a top U.S. school, would there be people who would brush up on their exams?
If $400,000 could guarantee a place at a top U.S. school, would anyone still be doing extracurricular activities to save experience?
Would anyone think that international students are an elite group if they could get guaranteed admission to a top U.S. school for $400,000?
If $400,000 is enough to get guaranteed admission to a top school in the U.S., will any employer dare to hire international students?
…
I don’t want such a “what if” to become a reality.
Sometimes, money may be able to get some privileges, but what money can’t get you is the process of hard work and the joy of getting an offer from your dream school after a long night’s battle.
Since we have chosen to study abroad, we have to savor the sour, sweet, bitter and spicy aspects of it.
Although we believe that the starting point of all parents involved in this case is their love for their children, there are some thorns that we have to cross ourselves before we can understand the preciousness of them.
Seeking shortcuts is an injustice to others, and the law will eventually be sanctioned as it should be.
Finally, the homepage will also continue to pay attention to this matter with everyone, including the documentary “buy into the famous school: the storm of American college fraud” on March 17, until Singh gets the punishment he deserves!
