The Biden administration’s indecision may lead to more reckless global provocations by the Chinese Communist Party. Experts have advised Biden to stick to Trump‘s hard-line China Policy and that indecision could give the Chinese Communist Party an opportunity to take advantage of the unforgivable consequences.
Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Texas) warned the Biden Administration that the Chinese Communist Party is “our adversary,” adding that Beijing has threatened the U.S. supply chain and urging the White House to “strengthen its response.
As long as Biden is uncertain, the Chinese Communist Party will have an opportunity to take advantage of it
Biden campaigned and took office promising to stay tough on the Chinese Communist Party, but his early actions suggest he is inconsistent with his words. U.S. experts warn that Biden’s reconsideration of U.S. policy toward China could backfire. As long as Biden is indecisive, the Chinese Communist Party will be able to take advantage of it.
Will Coggin, managing director of the American Security Institute, told Newsmax, “China [the Chinese Communist Party] is always looking for opportunities to apply pressure to influence the American narrative.”
Gentry Sayad is an international law expert and managing partner of the law firm Sayad & Associates. He told Newsmax he’s concerned that Biden has spent a month in office undoing the policies President Trump has pushed. “His only mission is to undo everything Trump has done,” he said.
So far, Biden has abandoned plans to make TikTok, the overseas version of Jitterbug, sell to a U.S. company. Coggin was shocked by this and said the Biden administration has yet to take any steps to keep Americans’ private data safe.
Gordon G. Chang, a China expert and author, argues that the problems with TikTok go far beyond that. He points to a Radio Free Asia report that found the Chinese Communist Party military sent personnel to the United States to use the App to inflame public opinion and encourage riots. Zhang Jiadun said this could be considered an act of war.
Sayad also said that in addition to TikTok, there is WeChat and even Zoom, which the Chinese Communist Party uses for data mining.
From TikTok to Confucius Institute Biden did not keep his promise
In addition to Zhang Jiadun mentioned the Chinese Communist Party used TikTok to encourage riots, Ke Jin also said that the Chinese Communist Party is also collecting genetic information data of Americans to deal with an individual or to create biological weapons.
He showed that familial DNA testing is now popular, but the companies offering such tests are selling the results to a number of companies, some of which are located in China. Because of the lack of U.S. legislation designed to combat such practices, Coggin fears that the CCP will continue to purchase such data, which would pose a threat to Americans while enhancing the CCP’s global dominance.
The CCP has also worked to secure deals with U.S. allies, including the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) trade agreement with 15 Asian countries, which includes U.S. allies Japan, Australia and South Korea. On top of that, the Chinese Communist Party has spared no effort to advance its relationship with the European Union.
Sayyad said, “The EU is developing relations with the CCP, which is worrying.” He fears that the EU may revoke its 5G ban on huawei if the CCP and the EU eventually reach a trade deal.
Newsmax reports that Dean Cheng, a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, noted that the Trump Administration has succeeded in convincing European leaders to take an Anti-Communist position on 5G, but Biden has instead announced a review of Trump’s policies aimed at keeping rivals like the Chinese Communist Party off the U.S. grid. If the U.S. scraps that policy, the U.S. will become vulnerable to attack, Chengbin said. Once the U.S. purchases faulty equipment from China, the U.S. power grid could be shut down, leading to the loss of American lives in the worst case scenario. In response to Biden’s decision, Sungbin noted, “That’s inexcusable.”
Beyond that, Biden’s quiet release of the Confucius Institute is also of concern. U.S. House of Representatives High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said in a statement, “I strongly urge the Biden administration to keep its word and include the Chinese Communist Party as our primary national security challenge in the U.S. Education system.”
Republican congressman exhorts Biden task force to send letter to help fight Communist Party
In the face of the Biden administration’s actual policy of showing weakness to the Chinese Communist Party, Republican Congressman Lloyd Smucker tweeted, “The Biden Administration must take the continued threat from China [the CCP] seriously.”
Republican Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) also said in an interview on Fox that he believes Biden has not been tough on the Chinese Communist Party. He said, “They [the Biden administration] need to wake up and understand that China [the Chinese Communist Party] is not just a competitor, it’s an important strategic adversary. They are targeting us militarily, diplomatically and economically ……. We need to stand up now, not retreat.”
On February 10, Biden announced the creation of a China Task Force (CTF) within the Department of Defense (DOD), and on February 23, the U.S. House of Representatives’ China Task Force (CTF) made public its petition letter to Biden. The 15 members of the group said they released a report last year with more than 400 policy recommendations on how to address the generational threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party, two-thirds of which were based on bipartisan consensus, and more than a quarter of which have so far become law or have been implemented by the previous administration.
They hope the report will serve as an action plan for the Biden administration and help shape U.S. foreign policy toward China in the coming years, providing guidance to the Defense Department’s China Task Force.
For 40 years, they said, the strategy embraced by Republicans and Democrats alike in the United States has failed. To this day, the core threat of the CCP remains largely unchanged, but instead is more aggressive, expansive, sophisticated and resourceful. Addressing the generational threat posed by the CCP is not a Republican or Democratic problem, but an American one.
In their letter, they write, “The reason it is Time to act is because our national and economic security depends on what happens in the months and years ahead.”
