2 deaths after vaccination with China Kexing vaccine, 2 more people sent to intensive care unit

Following the death of two people who died after being injected with the China Kexing vaccine, the Hong Kong government today reported two more cases of people who became seriously ill after being injected with the same vaccine. Hong Kong media reported that the two people are currently being treated in intensive care units, one of them is currently in critical condition.

The Hong Kong Department of health said in the evening that in the past 24 hours, the Hospital Authority reported two cases of serious adverse reactions to the 2019 coronavirus disease (Chinese Communist Virus, COVID-19) vaccine developed by China’s Kexing Biotechnology, and the two cases are currently undergoing treatment.

According to the report, one of them is an 80-year-old male with a history of chronic diseases such as diabetes, carotid Atherosclerosis, hypertension and stroke, who had received the Kexing vaccine on March 1 at the Community Vaccination Center at Tianhui Road Gymnasium in Yuen Long. But on the 6th, he developed chest pain symptoms and went to the Caritas Hospital in Kowloon for medical attention, but his condition continued to deteriorate and he was transferred to the intensive care unit that night.

The report pointed out that the 80-year-old man was initially diagnosed as “acute coronary syndrome”, the current situation is critical.

Another case is suffering from diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension and thyroid insufficiency and other chronic diseases of a 72-year-old woman, March 6 in the community vaccination center in Tseung Kwan O gymnasium Kexing vaccination, and then appeared weak phenomenon, and was found by Family members this morning. After being sent to Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin for medical treatment, she was found to have severe diabetic ketoacidosis and was transferred to an intensive care unit for treatment.

The Hong Kong government has been administering the first batch of COVID-19 vaccine developed by Kexing to the entire population since February 26, but the first case of death after vaccination occurred on February 28. After an autopsy, the government claimed that the deceased suffered from very serious coronary artery obstructive heart disease and pulmonary edema, and that the cause of death was “not directly related” to the vaccination.

On March 2, a 55-year-old woman went to the vaccination center in Kwun Chung Sports Centre to receive the vaccine, but on the 5th she became unwell and was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment, where she was diagnosed with an acute stroke and died on the same day. The Hong Kong government’s “New Crown Vaccine Clinical Incident Assessment Expert Committee” will meet on the 8th to discuss the case and confirm the cause of death.
