The situation in Myanmar continues to deteriorate. As the military and police escalate their tactics to crack down on protesters, photos and videos of anti-humane behavior by Myanmar’s military and police continue to emerge. A surveillance video is making the rounds overseas. The clip records the brutal behavior of several Burmese military and police officers brutally beating medical personnel with rifle butts and batons and shooting at ambulances, causing an outcry in overseas public opinion.
In the video, three medical personnel in an ambulance are forced to step out of the ambulance at gunpoint and crouch on the side of the road to wait for the police to deal with them. Afterwards, a number of heavily armed military police officers took turns to violate the three paramedics. These military police or kicked the paramedics, or use the butt of a gun and baton violently hit the head and back of the paramedics, during which a military police shot directly into the door of the ambulance, it is not known whether to vent anger or threats.
After the video was released on the Internet, it aroused strong indignation, and netizens of different ethnic groups left comments in the comment section under the video, condemning the brutal acts of the Burmese military police. Many Chinese netizens have also spoken out, condemning the Burmese military and police for their “heartlessness” and “outrage”. Some netizens also pointed out that this is the kind of brutality that happens in all dictatorships, such as the 1989 incident in Beijing‘s Tiananmen Square, where martial law soldiers fired indiscriminately at ambulances and personnel, and that the brutal behavior of the Burmese military and police today is the same as that of the Chinese Communist Party soldiers.
