Spotlight on e-commerce! Disney closes over 60 stores in North America

disney, which is now focusing more on e-commerce, plans to close more than 60 stores in North America, or 20 percent of its approximately 300 stores worldwide. It is not yet known how many jobs will be affected.

Disney has modified its website to be more consumer-friendly and opened boutiques on other platforms to reduce its reliance on brick-and-mortar stores.

Including stores located in Disney theme parks with stores owned by others, the company has a total of about 600 retail locations worldwide and will also evaluate the feasibility of closing European stores as it rethinks its retail strategy.
