A White House reporter on March 2 asked Biden if he believed there was a crisis at the U.S. southern border.
Biden replied, “No, we’ll be able to handle it.”
Separately, Biden also confirmed that he had been briefed on the impending wave of unaccompanied teenage migrants on the southern border.
When Biden was asked again what he had learned, Biden thought for a moment and replied only that there was “a lot.
According to information obtained by Axios, the Biden Administration plans to take in 117,000 teenage immigrants, also known as “unaccompanied alien children” (UAC), in 2021.
Most of the illegal child migrants at the U.S. southern border are brought to the U.S.-Mexico border by “coyotes” from South American countries. The concept of “coyotes” is equivalent to the Chinese language term for “snakeheads” who manipulate smugglers.
These human trafficking groups take advantage of the humanitarianism of the United States by first trying to bring children into the country, knowing that the United States will take pity on these children without Parents and will not only take them in and care for them, but may eventually help reunite their parents with their children in the United States as well.
Under former President Trump, the U.S. government cracked down on illegal immigration, especially illegal child immigration, because the Trump Administration believed that the “coyote” groups were using the children as a money-making tool and putting the children in danger.
As a result, under President Trump, the number of illegal child immigrants has been greatly reduced, from 76,000 in 2019 to 30,000 in 2020.
Now, the Biden administration’s setting of 117,000 slots for 2021 has greatly attracted a renewed influx of illegal child immigrants.
The Department of Homeland Security said they project that 117,000 unaccompanied child migrants will cross into the United States in 2021.
Immigration officials have suggested that 20,000 beds will be needed at the U.S. southern border to accommodate the upcoming influx of child migrants.
According to the report, 6,000 illegal immigrants between the ages of 16-17 were apprehended at the U.S. southern border in January of this year alone.
Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who is also a member of the Department of Homeland Security, said that the U.S. government has been working with the U.S. government to ensure that children are not deprived of their liberty. Alejandro Mayorkas first announced on Monday, March 1, that there was no border crisis.
Also when a reporter asked him if there was a crisis at the border, he replied, “I think the answer is no, I think there are challenges at the border that we have to manage, and we have dedicated resources to manage it.”
Mayorkas also said that “unaccompanied” migrant children can still come to the U.S., but that he hopes they will wait until the U.S. is ready to receive them.
He said, “We’re not saying you don’t want to come. We’re saying you don’t want to come now because we will be able to provide a safe and orderly process for them as soon as possible.”
Majokas’ words sounded more like wishful thinking; the Biden administration’s policy toward illegal immigrants is so generous and appealing that they are unlikely to wait, but rather to come as soon as possible, day and night. It is expected that there will soon be a crush of illegal immigrants and crowds at the southern U.S. border.
