The National Archives reported on Wednesday that President Trump will pick a new running mate if he decides to run for a second term as president.
President Trump, already considered by some polls to be the presidential nominee in 2024, is reportedly planning a possible presidential run in 2024, this Time with a running mate other than Pence.
Bloomberg News White House correspondent Jennifer Jacobs writes, “If Trump runs again, people around him don’t think Pence will be there for him.” Advisers have discussed identifying a black or female running mate for Trump’s next possible run.”
According to Jacobs, “Two advisers have suggested that Trump consider South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Ms. Noem, the people said. Trump’s eldest son and his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, are hosting a fundraiser for Ms. Noem at Sea Lake Lodge on Friday.” The two advisers also revealed that President Trump also plans to “show up” at the fundraiser.
But Trump’s adviser, Jason Miller, said President Trump has not made any decision at all about running in 2024. Miller is the only member of President Trump’s inner circle who has spoken publicly about President Trump’s future plans.
Miller asserted, “No such conversations are happening.” He added that President Trump “has not made any decisions about a potential run in 2024.”
Pence has tried to distance himself from President Trump and his constituents since Jan. 6, but the latest news says that Pence has recently tried to court his constituents. Dr. Navarro, a former White House aide to Trump, argued that Pence simply cannot be trusted and that he recused himself from what the U.S. Constitution requires of him on Jan. 6.
