A few days ago, a fifty-cent chat and selfie video was exposed online. In the chat video, the fifty cents in the group revealed how he reported the netizens who “insulted the martyrs”. The selfie video said that he had successfully reported six netizens last year. The two videos prove the ubiquity of the hairy and informants, and also remind more netizens to be on guard against the hairy people’s reports, and to make their remarks skillfully so as not to be caught in the crossfire, said informed netizens.

On February 22, a video was circulated online in which a netizen was chatting with his groupmates in his group, “chatting with a few netizens about a few topics this afternoon (February 20).”

In the chat, he exposed himself to the police in Beijing‘s Haidian District for reporting a netizen in his group. “If no one in our group answers tomorrow (the 21st), it’s that person who has been arrested.”

Afterwards, he said he investigated the netizen: “The one who insulted the martyr, his Family is from the Heilongjiang side, and the information I found on my side showed that it was from Heilongjiang, and I was wondering how that person could run to Beijing if it was that person.”

He also said that the Haidian police called him this afternoon and asked him if that record was still there. “Yesterday (19th) afternoon reported the police, the police returned a phone call in the evening, and this (20th) afternoon returned another phone call, which is to ask me about the record.”

After that, he spoke of reporting another “insult to martyrs” netizen: “There is another one is the People’s University, also accepted by the Haidian side, he (police) promised to give me a reply after the results, today (20) afternoon to accept.” Later said, “People’s University people, the police have just come to the phone, is looking for this person.”

According to the Chinese Communist Party’s official media, at 9:00 on February 21, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau issued a notice: on February 20, some people reported to the public security organs that a netizen had posted a number of insulting and defaming remarks about the heroic officers and soldiers defending the country’s borders in a WeChat group, triggering strong dissatisfaction among the group members. In response, the police quickly carried out an investigation, at 21:00 that night, the netizen Chen Mouqiang (male, 28 years old) was seized, the person confessed to the fact that for the venting of personal emotions published illegal statements. At present, the person is suspected of provocation and nuisance crime by the Haidian Public Security Bureau criminal detention.

The video also shows a phone number 010-82669690, which was found to be the police number of Beijing Haidian Police Station. In addition, he is heard in the video threatening other netizens in the group, “There are still a dozen records (for the one provided to the police) I won’t be able to show you (explained later that the reported records cannot be revealed within 24 hours after the police are called).”

He said, “I also told you that this is not a police station, it is (for) the National Security Bureau (provided), as long as what you say in the group is on record. The police can find you anytime, anywhere.”

The end of the video shows his posting, “Xinhuanet news, one more person detained! The man released insulting Wei Guoshu ……” he said, “This now can not go to confirm, is not the one I reported yesterday, but, I am contacting with the Beijing side, at the same Time I also left a message to that person, if he does not reply beyond 24 hours, that catch of the said he did.”

The video also shows a number of screenshots, including screenshots of his report to the police on the remarks of netizens in the group and screenshots of his conversation with the police, one of which contains a reply from the State Security “pay attention to fixing evidence.”

The so-called fixed evidence “is the screenshots and video recordings of the group’s chat. The police officer told him to pay attention to collecting actual evidence.” Informed netizen Jue Ping (a pseudonym) said on the 27th, the video is an experienced fifty cents on how he reported the actual work of netizens to various local police.

“Phone numbers are sent in it, and then the police tell him that after reporting, do not say it online for 24 hours, the police have to collect ‘evidence’ or to arrest people, etc., for fear of alerting the snake.”

Jue Ping said the group in the video is actually a fifty-cent group made up of many fifty cents, and that people in such groups would specialize in reporting on democrats, people who criticize the government and people who question the government.

For example, in the video, he spoke of the one at Renmin University, “is a professor at the National People’s Congress in Beijing said a simple comment on microblogging related to the martyrs, what doubts about China and India, I have seen that (comment), actually (comments) more neutral, should not be insulting, it was arrested and published, surnamed Chen.”

Also, he reported another person inside the group, “he said inside the group, a person refuted him two sentences, he even reported him together, the screenshot of what he said also sent to the police, and then the group of that person has no voice, do not know (what happened). Anyway, in those two days, he saw others talking about India and China, he looked uncomfortable he would go to report.”

Jue Ping said that the person who reported this is called Song Jianren, who lives in the Wutong Manor district of Yueyang, Hunan Province, in the Sinopec Changling Branch work, in the group is a more active person. “This information was revealed by himself when he showed himself off in the group, including Yueyang local public security, state security and stability maintenance office sent him a certificate of award for stability maintenance, as well as, photos of his participation in a symposium dedicated to stability maintenance, claiming to work with the government on the case.”

In fact, “he is totally informant, not the usual fifty cents. He reported all the netizens from all over the country, and he claimed to be very patriotic.” Jue Ping said.

On March 1, Song Jianren exposed himself online again, saying he assisted the government (the Chinese Communist Party) in dealing with six netizens last year, from Yunnan, Zhenjiang, Jiangxi and Shandong. In the video, he said, “I took a statement last week afternoon, and I guess some news may come out within this week. It is possible that I will go to Sichuan because I also had a meeting yesterday afternoon, so now it is all unknown.” “What information news this week, I will release a video to explain to everyone.”

Fifty-cent group

Jue Ping said, fifty cents group is not fifty cents work platform group, fifty cents group is a special group, “(there are) many groups, (fifty cents) special group, (that is) they have a group of their own in discussing those things (reporting and so on), is a group of exchange between fifty cents. Other people’s group, he went undercover, and then report others.”

Jue Ping said that a group of 50 cents usually does not exceed 100 people, which are mostly brainwashed people, and, every day, the group is very lively, discussing screenshots of other groups that have criticized a certain event, and then together to denounce, as evidence to report, to show that they are particularly “patriotic”. “They say they are patriots, but in reality they are party lovers.”

In the same group, “(they) form a group to show solidarity with each other, such as someone who does not share their views, they will dozens of people besiege one person. Anything critical of the government or well-intentioned advice that they don’t feel comfortable hearing, they will go and report.”

Jue Ping said there are also democrats and general netizens in the 50-cent group, but none dare to say much. “That inside dare not say, say, they immediately screenshot. There are a few are specially trained, Song Jianren is a special (dry) reporting, he said on the chat, he reported six people, is a successful report, he also (get) a reward.”

Jue Ping said the reason why this video was sent out may have two meanings, one is to show that there are officially planted fifty cents and informants in various chat groups. “This video is the evidence of how he went about reporting those netizens, and this video is proof that he is indeed a fifty-cent, indeed an informant of the state security, indeed reporting people everywhere.”

At the same time, I also want to remind the netizens in various groups to pay attention to people like Song Jianren who specialize in reporting others. “It is to give everyone a warning, in the future we have to speak in the group to be very clever, will not be caught in the handle.” Jue Ping said.
