Former U.S. President Donald Trump speaks at the 2020 Conservative Action Conference.
Dan Schneider, chief director of the American Conservative Union (ACU) and organizer of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), said the theme of the upcoming conference in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 25-28, is “America Uncancelled. Uncancelled,” which aims to expose the Culture of cancellation used by the far left to attack Americans’ freedoms and to highlight the fundamental rights granted by the U.S. Constitution.
Schneider said, “This theme highlights the growing threat to the autonomy of Americans enshrined in the Constitution.” He described the 10 speeches, panels and interviews at the conference, which will center on the 10 amendments that make up the Bill of Rights. “This is to give Americans an understanding of why rights are essential to freedom, why the left is now attacking every amendment, and why we must protect the Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution,” he said.
He also said that because what the American left is currently doing is limiting Americans’ basic freedoms, it is very important for Americans to understand this. “The radical left has made it clear that they don’t like these inherent rights that are protected by our government, such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, gun ownership, property rights and due process rights, none of which they believe should exist in a free and fair manner for Americans.”
Schneider said, “The radical left cannot tolerate any dissent. This is the most un-American situation I can imagine. Our country was founded on the idea that people with different ideas can coexist. So all those in America who hold good ideas should fight back against this culture of cancellation.”
Former U.S. President Donald Trump (Trump) will also speak on the afternoon of Feb. 28. Stephen Miller, a senior adviser to Trump, said the main things Trump will cover are: confronting the Chinese Communist Party, reviving U.S. manufacturing, eliminating the monopoly of big technology companies, reinstating schools and protecting the U.S. border.
He will outline a positive vision where communities are safe and criminals are put in prison,” Miller said. And where Americans are able to earn decent, high wages and engage in production in the United States, where those products should be made, not in mainland China or overseas.”
Miller said Feb. 21 that although Trump is no longer in the White House, he has an unmatched cohesiveness for the conservative party’s voter roots. He said Trump is not prepared to form a third party, but is fully committed to developing the Republican Party, and he will also set out to help the GOP win back the House and Senate in the 2022 midterm elections.
Miller said, “Trump is the Republican Party, and to attack Trump is to attack the Republican grassroots.”
Also speaking at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference will be conservatives such as Trump’s eldest son Donald Jr. and former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Alabama Reps Mo Brooks and Florida Rep Matt Gaetz.
Former Vice President Mike Pence has said he will not speak at the conference.
