U.S. media outlet The Gateway Pundit reported Tuesday that the Biden administration is now attempting to “administratively abolish” Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
A source familiar with the matter told The Washington Times that as Biden welcomes illegal immigrants, the jobs of thousands of officers who have arrested and deported them in the past disappear, “and that’s what we now know is an administrative abolition of ICE.
The Washington Examiner reports, “It is understood that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently proposed a plan to eliminate ICE’s enforcement and deportation division and transform those officers who deal with illegal immigrants into agents who investigate transnational crimes. The proposal outlined by the Biden Administration to top ICE officials is to keep the ICE name and investigative agency and eliminate ICE’s ability to enforce immigration laws, leaving ICE with little ability to deal with people who overstay in the U.S. or enter the country illegally. “
