Nearsighted people good news? Study: Glasses wearers reduce the risk of infection by 3 times

Research in India has shown that those who wear glasses have a two to three times lower risk of contracting the disease compared to those who do not wear glasses. The picture shows a woman wearing glasses wearing a mask.

It has been said, “All recent advancers are nearsighted.” This means that myopia has become a common problem among modern people, and the glasses worn to correct vision often cause some inconvenience to Life. However, just as the Communist pneumonia (Wuhan pneumonia) Epidemic is ravaging the world, an Indian study found that those who wore glasses had a two to three times lower risk of contracting the disease compared to those who did not wear glasses. This appears to be good news for nearsighted people.

In the study, researchers used a questionnaire to investigate the glasses wearing habits of 304 patients with communist pneumonia in northern India, and then compared them with the general population. Fifty-eight of the patients wore glasses throughout the day, even when they were outdoors.

Researchers Saxena (Amit Kumar Saxena) pointed out that the study showed that, compared with people who do not wear glasses, people who wear glasses have two to three times lower risk of contracting communist pneumonia.

Saxena said the protective effect of eyeglasses is statistically significant if they are used for long periods of Time during the day. This may be because wearing glasses helps reduce the chance of contaminated hands touching or rubbing the eyes.

The study showed that touching the face, nose, eyes and mouth with your hands can cause infections, and that people touch their face and eyes an average of 23 times per hour.

While wearing a mask properly can significantly reduce the chances of people touching their mouths and noses, wearing a mask does not protect the eyes. Although wearing glasses cannot achieve the same tight effect as goggles, they can effectively prevent people from touching their eyes, thus providing some degree of protection.

The study also mentions that poor and uneducated people are more likely to be infected because “they do not follow the guidelines properly and do not wear glasses as much as educated people.”
