Power to the People Recall Governor Organizer: Proud of the People of California

On February 20, the civic organization We Have Rights held a gala anniversary celebration at Promenade Park in Ventura County, California. More than 1.7 million signatures were collected last Friday for the third impeachment of Governor Newsom, which began last June, and volunteers around the state are still scrambling to collect a total of 2 million signatures in the next three weeks.

More than 1.7 million people have signed up for a rally in Ventura County to call for the removal of Governor Newsom.

After almost every rally, we received nearly 1,000 signatures and we saw a real unity among the people,” said organizer Gina Bacon. There are numerous reasons listed on the Recall the Governor website, and each one brings a segment of the population on board.”

The Power of the People

“Mike Netter, one of the organizers of the Recall Gavin 2020 campaign, said, “I’m proud of the people of California that our organization has united a very large number of people, regardless of ethnicity, age, profession and party affiliation. Everyone comes together for a common cause, and everyone has the opportunity to do something about it.”

“You can see a lot of joy here from ordinary people, the recall of the governor allowed the people to take back their rights, and that’s important to everyone, this movement gives people the right to control their own Destiny. You don’t see angry hate in the draft campaign, but joy, and I think that’s very important for everyone.”

Nate greeted Glenda, who was passing by, and said, “Like Glenda, for nine months she’s been doing the draft to achieve one of her Life goals. The draft gives every ordinary person a chance to voice their political demands, and there are about 40,000 to 50,000 such volunteers, and more have recently joined the movement.”

The moderator asked for a show of hands from the volunteers who participated in the recall Governor Newsom’s signature drive, and many hands were raised at the rally.

At other signature collection points, reporters also met several Chinese who joined the volunteers from the beginning. Volunteer Xiaofeng said it was hard at the beginning, with few volunteers and people coming to sign, and it was especially hot in the summer, but now it’s all kinds of people coming to sign, and of course there are those who are against it. Volunteer Teresa said, including various flags, signs, tables, chairs and forms, etc., were all purchased by the volunteers themselves, but the effort was well worth it.

Nate said, “You see people very happy, many working day and night because they believe in bringing the American people together, bringing California together, not just removing a bad governor like Gavin Newsom. We need to come together to change and fix the basic image of government and not let them manipulate the people like this.”

The governor wants to verify the identity of the signers?

Nate said they likely did, checking everyone’s signatures, and they tried to use their power to stop (the recall), but in contrast, the California Democratic Party didn’t want to check people’s voter IDs in last year’s election.

“I think people should agree and make the vote legal, and we’re working toward 2 million signatures, and we have an 85 percent verification rate, which is not generally that high, so that when they check we’re able to go over the bottom line (1.5 million qualifying signatures).” Teresa described the possibility of that signature being struck off if, for example, the name is written beyond the rectangle, or if the city name is abbreviated when writing the address, or if the wrong county name is written, etc.

Can’t have one party in power

According to Nate, the pandemic of the Chinese Communist virus (COVID-19) last year seemed like a gas pedal that brought many issues to the surface; Governor Newsom exceeded his authority and exerted his authority, but he has done so before, but now the government has gone too far and suppressed people’s lives in every way; that’s what COVID-19 did, bringing many issues to the forefront and making them more intense.

California needs to maintain a state of balance in the future, we can’t have one party in power, either party in power too long, doing anything too long, it will end in failure,” Nate said. People should be able to express themselves openly about what they want, they should have that freedom, we have to have parties that have equal say, we want a free environment.”

“People have to be able to express their will and not be suppressed. A political party is not just an organization, it’s made up of people, and what each person stands for (on specific matters) doesn’t have to be exactly the same as your political party; political parties should express the will of the people. This call for signatures alone has been joined by people from all parties and independents, and people have reached a consensus on the issue of removing the governor.”

Nate said he hopes more people will join this great movement in the final three weeks to express their will and take control of their own destiny.
