King of Swaziland recovered from epidemic with anti-viral drugs from Taiwan

King Nshwati III of the African kingdom of Swaziland said on February 19 that he had recovered from the 2019 coronavirus (Chinese communist virus) he contracted in January after using antiviral drugs given by Taiwan. Swaziland is a state diplomatic country of Taiwan.

The small country in southern Africa, formerly known as Swaziland, is the only African country still resisting Chinese Communist pressure to break ties with Taiwan.

AFP reported that Mswati III thanked President Tsai Ing-wen for sending him the medication on the 19th, but he did not disclose the name of the drug, saying only that the Swazi government would buy it “immediately” for its people.

Swaziland is now in the second wave of the Epidemic, but has not yet received any vaccine, the prevention work is very difficult. The UK sent an emergency medical team to the region last month to help strengthen the public health system.

Speaking to Parliament, Enshwati III said, “While we are still waiting for a vaccine, I want to reveal to you that there is a cure using an antiviral drug.”

“We discovered this drug after I tested positive for the 2019 coronavirus (CCP virus) for a number of days in the first 1 week of January 2021, and I thank President Tsai of the Republic of China for sending me this drug.”

He noted that the drug, which was administered as an IV injection, allowed him to recover before he had a chance to announce his hospitalization to the public.
