Former U.S. President Donald Trump (Trump) gave a media interview on Wednesday (Feb. 17) in which he responded to incumbent President Joe Biden‘s remarks on vaccines, commenting on certain aspects of the new administration’s administration; Trump also talked about the 2020 election being stolen and also made it clear that he does not want to return to Twitter, among other attitudes.
Trump questions Biden’s comments on vaccines
Tuesday night at a CNN town hall meeting, Biden told the host, “When we came into office, we had no (vaccines) and only people waiting to be vaccinated, (if there were no vaccines), how do you inject people into the arm?” And previously Biden had talked about having 50 million doses of vaccine available when he took office.
“He’s either not telling the truth, or he’s out of his mind.” The next day (Feb. 17), in an interview with Newsmax, Trump said, “Is he kidding? Honestly, that’s a stupid statement.”
As it turns out, Biden himself had received two doses of the vaccine before taking office on Jan. 20. The U.S. had already given the nation a million doses of the vaccine as recently as Dec. 24 of last year.
Trump talks about the new administration and the 2020 election
In an interview with Newsmax, Trump shared his thoughts on the new administration and criticized Biden’s attitude toward Communist China and illegal immigration, “The whole thing is so ridiculous,” Trump said, “and we [the Trump Administration] had China [the Chinese Communist Party] under control. “
Trump spoke to several media outlets on Wednesday, where he spoke at length with Newsmax about the 2020 election, calling it “rigged” and “stolen.
“Something very bad and dishonest did happen,” Trump said, noting that he received 75 million votes, more than any sitting president in history.
“When people say ‘stop stealing the election,’ that’s not a joke, that’s a disgrace, (the 2020 election) is like an election in a third-world country.” Trump said, “So we have to get this straightened out, to figure out what really happened …… we have to both go forward and we have to go backwards.”
“We don’t want to go back to Twitter.”
Trump also talked about the blocking of him by social media, saying the social media platform Parler wanted to get him on board. He said he has more followers on Twitter than all of Parler’s users, so it’s “technically” impossible for him to access the platform.
“We’re really being harassed on Twitter.” “They flag all kinds of content, almost everything you see is flagged, everything I say is flagged, and it’s shameful.” Trump added, but some authoritarian countries are tweeting on Twitter, and Twitter doesn’t care.
“It’s getting very boring. We don’t want to go back to Twitter.” He said.
Trump also admitted he misses being president, but did not reveal whether he would run in 2024.
