According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, police stopped a 47-year-old sexual predator in a U-Haul van and found some dismembered human tissue in the back of the vehicle, and police later found deep-fried body parts in a nearby dumpster.
Taray Herring, 47, was handcuffed after exiting the minivan. He was charged with criminal trespass, theft and tampering with evidence. No bail is allowed.
And police continue to investigate the bizarre case.
This horrific criminal case came to light on Wednesday. It was when Philadelphia police received a call from out of state about the need for a welfare check on Peter Gerold, a 70-year-old man who lives in Philadelphia but hadn’t been contacted in a long Time.
Police went to Gerold’s Home that day and the house showed no signs of a burglary and no piles of mail. The police also did not enter the house because it did not look different on the outside.
It wasn’t until the next morning that Philadelphia police received a call about a robbery at Jerrold’s home.

Police trailed a U-Haul minivan as it was pulling out of Jerrold’s home and pulled it over. The driver rushed out of the vehicle in a panic and said, “I don’t want anything to do with this, there’s a body in the back of the car.” .
There was also 47-year-old Herring in the car. However, police found signs that part of the body in the back of the car had been fried again.

The driver of the van was detained along with Herring, and police continued to search, eventually finding the remains of other bodies that had been deep-fried in a dumpster near Jerrold’s home. They then released the driver.

CrimeOnline reports that the dumpster was behind a shopping center. The black garbage bags contained deep-fried hands and feet, as well as severed legs.
Sources say some other body parts were found in the garage of Jerrold’s home, as well as some burn marks from someone trying to destroy the body.
Police said they also found a weapon in the back of the minivan containing the body.
Philadelphia authorities have not yet announced who the deep-fried body parts or the parts in the back of the U-Haul belong to.
However, animal services personnel were seen removing Jerrod’s pets from the home, indicating that Jerrod could no longer care for them.
Penn Live reports that Jerrold owns a massage therapy clinic.
On Thursday night, after Herring was brought back by police for a homicide investigation, police then went to a retail store near the incident at Platts Road and Kelvin Avenue, near the house on Senneberger, and found black garbage bags containing human hands and feet – all parts of which had been deep-fried.
The source said cut-up legs were also found in the garbage bags, but this had not been deep-fried.
The 47-year-old Herring has quite a criminal history. For starters, he’s a documented sex offender in Pennsylvania. Last May, he was arrested and charged with burglary, trespassing, theft and related offenses. However, Herring was released on bail in June. It is because of the repeated bail that the victim, Jerrold, met with such great misfortune.
