Jiang Zhigang, an old deputy provincial minister of Zeng Qinghong and secretary of the Yinchuan Municipal Party Committee, was bizarrely removed from his post and his whereabouts are a mystery.
On the eve of the Chinese New Year, Zhang Zhu, the former Party Secretary of Guyuan in Ningxia Autonomous Region, became the Secretary of Yinchuan Municipal Party Committee. He is the youngest municipal party secretary among China’s 27 provincial capitals (capital cities). Previously, Jiang Zhigang, an old part of Zeng Qinghong, former deputy secretary of the Ningxia Autonomous Region Party Committee and secretary of the Yinchuan Municipal Committee, was bizarrely removed from his post and his whereabouts became a mystery.
Ningxia Daily released news on February 8: the autonomous regional party committee decided: Zhang column as a member of the Yinchuan Municipal Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, no longer as the Goodyear Municipal Committee Secretary, Standing Committee, member positions.

Jiang Zhigang, born in August 1960, was the deputy director and party committee member of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, a member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and the head of the Organization Department, etc. In 2017, he became the deputy secretary of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Party Committee and president of the Party School of the regional Party Committee, and secretary of the Yinchuan Municipal Party Committee.
Jiang Zhigang has a strong Jiangist background and was once a former member of Zeng Qinghong. Jiang Zhigang served in the Communist Party’s aerospace system for 18 years from 1982 to 2000, and was deputy director of the Fifth Bureau of Cadres of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China from April 2001 to May 2003, when Jiang Zemin’s top butler, Zeng Qinghong, was an alternate member of the Central Political Bureau, secretary of the Central Secretariat and head of the Organization Department of the Central Committee from 1999 to November 2002, making Jiang Zhigang a subordinate of Zeng Qinghong.
Jiang Zhigang crossed paths with Jiang Jiemin, the fallen director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Jiang Jiamin, a senior pawn of Zeng Qinghong’s Zhou Yongkang oil gang, fell on Sept. 1, 2013, and was sentenced to 16 years in prison on Oct. 12, 2015.
In addition, Jiang Zhigang and Jiang’s Beijing gang tigers Lv Xiwen, Li Shixiang and Li Wei also all have career interactions.
Current affairs commentator Li Yanming analyzed, Jiang Zhigang has reached 60 years old, as a deputy secretary of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Party Committee at the level of deputy provincial minister, has reached retirement age; but the official announced his transfer, his qualification as a deputy to the National People’s Congress terminated on its own, but so far nearly 20 days later, his transfer destination has not been announced, which is quite bizarre. His career direction and whether he can land safely remains to be further observed.
