Heavy snow falls on the White House in Washington, D.C., on the morning of Feb. 2.
Fox News reports that the U.S. Secret Service arrested a 66-year-old woman on Saturday (Feb. 14), charging her with possession of a gun near the White House.
Police say the woman had a loaded gun in a car parked near the White House. She claimed she was delivering a letter to President Joe Biden, they said.
The woman was also accompanied by a man carrying a BB gun, police said.
Police report that the suspect was taken into custody around 5:30 p.m. Saturday near the Old Ebbitt Grill restaurant on Northwest 15th Street.
Police said the woman and the man with the BB gun walked together toward an entrance checkpoint near the White House building. The woman reportedly told a law enforcement officer at the checkpoint that she wanted to deliver a letter to the president.
