Yang Yunwai
During the Qianning period of Emperor Zhaozong of Tang Dynasty, Yang Yunwai, a Taoist priest from Hancheng Palace in Yun’an County, often used to drink wine to conceal himself, but his words and behavior were not normal.
Qian Ruoyu, a former scholar, respected him very much. One day, Qian Ruoyu came to Yang Yunwai’s mountain temple after fasting and bathing, and stayed in the temple’s fasting room at night. The next day, he said to Yang Yunwai reverently, “Abbot, I have heard some legends about gods and immortals, but I still have some doubts about them. Yang Yunwai replied, “There is the matter of gods and immortals, and I am the one in the legend. If I show my ability to fly in the air and walk on water and fire, then there will be thousands of people wanting to make friends with me every day, isn’t that very tiresome?” After saying that, Yang Yunwai leaped into the air and rose up in the air for a long Time before coming down. Qian Ruoyu bowed to the ground and believed in the immortals from then on.

Mei Zhenjun
Cui Jingtang, a native of Ruyin, had a very rich Family. Once a Taoist priest, who called himself Mei, came to visit Cui Jingtang. He was a guest in Cui Jingtang’s house for several months.
Cui Jingtang bought a jade saddle in the market and prepared to go to Shouchun to present it to the festival envoy Gao Aisi. He said to Meigun, “Sir, just stay here, I am going to Shouchun and will return in half a month, I will have my children and nephews to serve you, don’t have worries.” Mei Jun said, “I am from Shouchun, I came here to visit a family friend, and I am going back. You go ahead. I have stayed in your house for such a long time, and I want to repay you. Do you have any mercury at Home?” Cui Jingtang replied, “Yes.” Immediately, he brought ten taels and presented it to Meijun. Mei Jun then put the mercury in a censer and it soon turned into white silver. Then Mei Jun gave the silver to Cui Jingtang and said, “You can use this silver as your allowance. When you get to Shouchun, you can visit my house in the east of the city.” After saying that, Mei Jun and Cui Jingjun went their separate ways.
When Cui Jingtang arrived in Shouchun, he went to the east of the city to look for Mei’s family. After searching for several days, he couldn’t find Mei’s family. The people in the village said, “There is no Mei family here, and there is no Taoist priest, but there is a statue of Mei Zhenjun in Huainan Yue Temple. Cui Jingtang followed the village people’s words to look for, and indeed the Mei Zhenjun in the Huainan Yue Temple was Mei Jun. From then on, they never met again.
