On February 9, Guangxi Daily’s WeChat public number said that the Party Committee of Guangxi Autonomous Region decided to appoint Zhou Jiabin as the secretary and standing committee member of Guilin City, and Zhao Le Qin no longer serves.
But Zhao Le Qin still holds the position of deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi People’s Congress of the Communist Party.
Zhao Leqin, 61, is the younger brother of Zhao Leji, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and has served in his hometown of Shaanxi for a long Time. He served as secretary of the Shanyang County Party Committee in Shaanxi Province, director of the Shangluo Regional Finance Bureau, deputy director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Transportation, and mayor of Hanzhong City in 2005.
After Zhao Leji took charge of Shaanxi in 2007, Zhao Le Qin avoided Guangxi, then mayor of Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, and moved to Hezhou, Guangxi, as secretary of the municipal party committee.
After Zhao Leji became a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection at the 19th CPC Congress in 2017, Zhao Le Qin, then Secretary of the Guangxi Guilin Municipal Party Committee, was also Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi People’s Congress in 2018, making him a vice-ministerial-level official.

Just before Zhao Leqin stepped down from his post, Zhao Li, Zhao Leqin’s former minister and known as the “most beautiful secretary,” was named and criticized by the authorities as an “anti-corruption” target.
On Feb. 4, Guangxi Party Secretary Lu Xinshe attended a “democratic Life meeting” organized by Chongzuo City regarding Zhao Li’s corruption case. The company’s main goal is to provide the best possible solution to the problem.
The official media said, “Chongzuo municipal party secretary Liu Youming took the lead in criticism and self-criticism”.
On January 24, CCTV published a commentary article criticizing Zhao Li, who has been the secretary of the Daxin County Party Committee since he became the secretary, and whose full-time driver acted as a “cashier” to share one-third of the stolen money, about 4 million yuan (RMB).
The article emphasizes that leading cadres and their “sidekicks”, “group corruption” cases are not uncommon, requiring leading cadres to control the “sidekicks”.
The 52-year-old Zhao Li is Zhao Leqin’s old department.

Zhao Li fell in April 2020 and was sentenced to ten and a half years in prison in November 2020 for accepting more than 13.44 million yuan in bribes.
