Investigated Twitter Says Lincoln Project Co-Founder Did Not Violate Harmful Sexual Expression Rules

The Breitbart News reported Thursday that John Weaver, co-founder of the shameless Lincoln Project, used the Twitter platform’s direct messaging system to sexually harass young men, yet Twitter said that upon investigation Weaver did not violate Twitter’s rules on unwanted sexual speech.

Unwelcome sexual comments banned by Twitter include unnecessary sexual discussion of someone’s body, inciting sexual behavior and otherwise sexualizing that person without their consent.

More than two dozen young people said Weaver, who has an activated account on the Twitter platform, used Twitter’s direct messaging feature to send them unwanted sexually offensive comments. Many screenshots of these direct messages have been posted, and one of the victims was only 14 years old, according to the New York Times.

A Twitter spokesperson told Breitbart News that the Twitter platform has investigated the matter and has not found Weaver to have violated Twitter policy.

The Lincoln Project severed ties with Weaver because of Weaver’s problems. But the Associated Press found that other leaders in the anti-Trump Lincoln Project were aware of the allegations against Weaver as early as last June.

The far-left Associated Press released a heavy bombshell Thursday claiming that leaders of the Lincoln Project were aware of allegations of repeated sexual misconduct against its co-founder Weaver as early as last June. The report also exposed the unbelievable fact that the Lincoln Project raised $90 million, “more than $50 million of which went to companies controlled by Project Lincoln leaders.”

Back in June of last year, Ron Steslow, one of the heads of the Lincoln Project, received an email “detailing the Weaver sexual harassment case that spanned several years,” which Steslow gave to Galen (who has since resigned) and the Lincoln Project’s lawyers. In phone calls with Lincoln Project leaders in June and August, project staff were told that the Weaver case would be investigated.

Weaver finally took a leave of absence last August. But after his sabbatical, it appeared that a decade of financial problems, still had not been resolved.

“Over the past decade, Weaver has repeatedly failed to pay taxes, defaulted on loans and faced lawsuits from creditors. Last October, he paid off $313,000 in unpaid taxes owed to the IRS, records show. The Weaver Family still owes $340,000 in back rent after closing the children’s boutique, records show, and the case is pending in Texas.”

Yes, you read that right …… a “children’s boutique”.

The Lincoln Project also failed to protect its own employees, at least two of whom said they were targeted by Weaver.

It is unclear what level of sexual harassment would have led Twitter to take action.
