Rep. Jordan: Impeachment of Trump violates four principles and four facts

Senior Republican U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan. Jordan.

Ohio U.S. Rep. James Jordan (R-Ohio) said Wednesday, Feb. 10, that Democrats’ impeachment of Trump violates four principles and four truths, and that the outcome of the impeachment trial cannot be changed no matter how much they prepare.

In an interview with Fox News host Hannity, Jordan described the four principles and four truths that Trump’s impeachment violates. He said, “This impeachment violates four major principles: first, this impeachment violates the Constitution; second, there was no due process in the House of Representatives prior to the impeachment of Trump; third, this impeachment severely harms the First Amendment guaranteed to the U.S. Constitution and the right of Americans to free speech; and fourth, this impeachment does not fulfill the promise to unite Americans that Biden made when he was sworn in. “

He also spoke of four facts about the impeachment: the FBI knew about the unrest or the outbreak beforehand; the bombs found at the scene were discovered before Trump had even held his rally; the D.C. police were calling for help and requesting reinforcements from the National Guard before the riots even began; and Trump specifically said in his speech, “Peacefully and with patriotic fervor, let your voice be heard. Let your voice be heard peacefully and with patriotic fervor,” Trump said in his speech.

Jordan said, “These four principles and these four truths are not going to change no matter how many videos they (Democrats) show or how long they spend giving speeches. These are some of the most basic facts, and I believe the American people know that these are the key facts.”

Hannity also believes the evidence is enough to shoot down the charge by leftist bigots that Trump has fomented a spontaneous uprising. He said, “First of all, this impeachment lacks constitutional support, and the Senate lacks jurisdiction over it. We now know that the FBI knew in advance that there was going to be a riot, the FBI had prior intelligence; we know that the police chief in D.C. sent six requests to the National Guard for reinforcements before the riot; we know that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) knew a week ago. She had said, “She was told this riot was going to happen.”

Hannity questioned, “Why did the FBI do nothing when they knew in advance, and investigators knew in advance?” “And now the question is, if they knew in advance, doesn’t that completely shoot down the claim of a so-called ‘spontaneous, incited uprising’?”

In response California U.S. Senator Devin Nunes (D-Calif.) said the FBI in the United States has long been corrupted by corruption.

Jordan also said the American public is tired of the left’s double standard. He said, “Last year the left in (the Black Lives Matter protests) had called for more unrest, but no one impeached them. And the former president was impeached for saying ‘let your voice be heard peacefully and with patriotic fervor. Many Americans abhor Capitol Hill, not just because the U.S. government tends to spend money on crazy issues; what they abhor most is the hypocrisy of Washington and its double standards.”

He added, “High fences are now erected around Capitol Hill to protect politicians, but the U.S. government is unable to secure its borders to protect the country. That’s why Americans are so grateful to Trump because he came to Washington to do the things that matter to American families.”
