Trump Jr: Impeachment should not be the focus of Congress to help the people through difficult times is

Trump‘s eldest son, Trump Jr. speaks at a rally.

Trump Jr., the eldest son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, told Fox News Tuesday (Feb. 9) that House Democrats are trying to get the Senate to convict Trump after his impeachment trial this week, but that simply should not be the focus of the U.S. Congress right now. America still has a pandemic going on and the people are in need of a lot of help, he said!

“Aren’t we still in the middle of a pandemic?” Trump Jr. told news show host Sean Hannity. “I think these senators should have better things to do. Maybe they should actually be fighting for the American people for change, maybe they can actually get involved in causes that can help us get through this pandemic.”

Trump Jr. said the new administration has so far failed to provide coronavirus assistance to the public. Instead, Biden has directly killed a large number of American people’s jobs through climate-specific executive orders and by opening U.S. borders without considering the safety of the virus’ spread.

Trump Jr. later compared his father’s much-criticized comments and the Capitol riots to those of Democratic officials in the past and the riots that affected several U.S. cities last year. He said, “The double standard is insane, and maybe the U.S. Senate should focus on that instead of the nonsense.”

He told Hannity, “What you’re saying, in a way, highlights all the hypocrisy that we’ve seen in 10 months of rioting, looting, arson, in-your-face type of politics.” “Frankly, what my father said on Jan. 6 was relatively mild, but if you compare his speech to any standardized cliche speech (stump speech) that has ever been delivered in political history, it’s definitely not very different.”

Trump Jr. added that in the future Republicans “will have to play hardball, if they [Democrats] are playing hardball.” “They’ve laughed and slapped us in the face when they’ve won every major battle we’ve had along the way. And we all kept giving them the other cheek to slap.”
