Only 25 minutes after vaccination, elderly New Yorker collapses and dies

A 70-year-old man in New York collapsed and died 25 minutes after receiving a vaccination.

A 70-year-old man in New York suddenly collapsed and died 25 minutes after receiving the Wuhan pneumonia (COVID-19) vaccine on Sunday morning (Feb. 7), officials said, adding that he did not have any allergic reaction.

According to the Daily Mail, a 70-year-old man in New York City was vaccinated against Wuhan pneumonia (COVID-19) at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan on the morning of Feb. 7 when he was ready to leave the center after 25 minutes of administering the vaccine. He suddenly collapsed and was immediately taken to the hospital for resuscitation by emergency personnel, but died.

State health Department Director Dr. Howard Zucker said in a statement that the raw data showed that the elderly man had no allergic reaction to the vaccine and that he did not have any adverse reactions or any distress during the 15 minutes after the vaccine was administered.

New York officials have not disclosed the identity of the elderly man or which vaccine he was administered.

The New York State Department last month expanded the vaccination to the 1B population, which would have included seniors over 75, teachers, police officers, firefighters and public transportation employees, and made the vaccination available online last month.

The U.S. has seen a number of unexplained deaths since the mass vaccination began in December 2020.

Drene Keyes, a 58-year-old Virginia official, died less than a day after she became unwell following a vaccination on May 5. Local officials said that after the vaccination, Keyes stayed at the scene for 15 minutes before returning Home, and a preliminary investigation showed that her death was not related to an allergic reaction to the vaccine, and authorities are still investigating the exact cause of death.

On Jan. 22, Tim Zook, a 60-year-old X-ray radiologist at South Coast Global Medical Center in California, had a second dose of Pfizer vaccine and suffered an adverse reaction within hours, reacting to his colleagues with severe stomach pain and difficulty breathing.

The Orange County medical examiner is still conducting a post-mortem examination to confirm whether his death was related to the vaccine.
