The World health Organization (WHO) announced that an international team of experts who are nearing the completion of a month of work in China to investigate the origin of the outbreak will brief the media in Wuhan tomorrow.
WHO said today, “The international team working to understand the origins of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is nearing the completion of four weeks of work in Wuhan, China, and will attend a briefing tomorrow with their Chinese counterparts.”
The briefing will take place tomorrow at 4 p.m. local Time at a hotel in Wuhan and will be broadcast live in English on WHO’s digital social media platforms.
Scientists believe the novel coronavirus originated in bats and may have been transmitted to humans through another mammal, but so far there is no certainty, and WHO officials are downplaying the possibility that the sensitive investigation could identify the source of the virus in one fell swoop.
The officials said the trip to Wuhan is feared to raise more questions that need to be answered.
