Seattle, Portland demonstrations turn into riots White House press secretary: Biden condemns violence

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said at a press conference Monday that President Joe Biden condemned the violence during the protests in Portland and Seattle.

According to mediaite, Forsyth News reporter Peter Doocy asked Psaki at the daily White House press conference, “President Biden condemned the riots caused by far-left and far-right activists before he even became president, so why haven’t we heard him say anything about the riots in Portland and along the Pacific Northwest coast since he took office? Why haven’t we heard him say anything about the riots in Portland and the Pacific Northwest since he took office?”

Sachs replied, “I’m here to say for President Biden that the President has condemned violence, that peaceful protest is a cornerstone of our democracy, that smashing windows and looting is not protest, that such behavior is totally unacceptable, and that any perpetrators should be prosecuted.”

Hundreds of protesters have taken to the streets in Seattle and Portland recently to express their anger at Biden’s call for unity since taking office. Demonstrators in Portland wore “Antifa” signs, carried “We don’t want Biden, we want revenge!” and at least 200 protesters invaded and vandalized the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in Portland. Protesters in Seattle vandalized numerous businesses, including the founding Starbucks store.
