According to media reports, the Israeli Air Force has attacked Iranian military bases in Syria for the 3rd Time this month. Iran really says the meanest things and takes the meanest hits! Since last December, Iran has been making all kinds of threats against Israel. Israel launched 3 unrelenting strikes on Iranian targets this month alone.
And this time it is even more violent beatings level, Israeli warplanes this time is January 13 at 1:30 a.m., crossing the border from Jordan, through over the U.S. base in Tanf in southern Syria. Then entered Israel’s ally Kurdish forces control area, after directly bypassing the Syrian in Damascus tight air defense zone. The strikes against Syrian and Iranian targets in Deir Ezzor, Syria, were carried out relentlessly over Kurdish-controlled areas in eastern Syria.
Israeli warplanes reportedly conducted intensive missile strikes, carrying out 18 rounds of airstrikes against the Abu Kamal base complex, Iran’s largest military base in Syria. The 18 rounds of airstrikes overnight blew up the Iranian base complex on the ground with fires and explosions one after the other. At least 57 Syrian and Iranian-system soldiers were reportedly killed and an unknown number wounded.
The Abu Kamal base complex is the largest Iranian military base complex in Syria, with multiple underground tunnels built to store missiles and rockets transported in by Iran, among other things. So since 2019, Israel has attacked the Abu Kamal base complex by air at least five times. Each time, three or four months apart, and by the time Iran has filled up the Abu Kamal base complex warehouses again, Israeli warplanes are back.
Iran threatened Israel again and again, and Israel attacked Iranian targets again and again. Iran doesn’t really have a good solution for Israel. Iranian missiles and Drones, and long-range rockets, and cruise missile advantages don’t play well with Israel.
Iranian missiles have been continuously destroyed by Israel in their depots before they are even launched. Since 2013, Israel has conducted hundreds of air strikes against Iranian warehouses, bases, command headquarters, and other targets in Syria. Iran’s stockpiles of missiles, rockets and drones in Syria have suffered heavy losses during these airstrikes. Iran’s air force and anti-aircraft missile forces are unable to defend themselves against Israel.
The skies over Syria are simply undefended for Israel.
Iranian medium-range ballistic missiles can hit Israel from Iranian soil, but in small numbers. And don’t forget that Israel also has ballistic missiles, and more advanced, and Israel has nuclear missiles.
A ground war would be like Iran fostering the Houthis in Yemen and forming pro-Iranian forces in Syria and Iraq. This trick will not work in Israel, and more importantly, the Iranian forces in Syria can not beat the Israeli forces in the Golan Heights, the difference in combat power is too great. Even if you can play their own losses 10, the Israeli army losses 1 exchange ratio, the Iranian forces will not hesitate to attack the Golan Heights.
