The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) said to the public on Friday that imports of wooden molds and other wood products from China are hurting the U.S. wood products industry, Reuters reported.
The U.S. Department of Commerce is currently investigating anti-dumping and countervailing duties on wood products. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, the investigation was launched at the end of January last year, targeting wood products from China and Brazil. The prosecution is the Coalition of American Millwork Producers. One of the countervailing investigations against China targeted 37 subsidy programs in China.
Prior to the launch of this investigation, in 2018, China exported more than $200 million in wood products to the U.S., while Brazil was close to $300 million.
