Many provinces and cities in mainland China have recently entered a period of high outbreak of the Chinese Communist virus (COVID-19), and Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, is one of the hardest hit areas of the Epidemic, with the local government continuously reinforcing blockade control measures on the population. Recently, two counties under the jurisdiction of Suihua City have witnessed incidents of jumping and hanging of residents, respectively.

The epidemic in Suihua has been very serious this year and was classified as a medium-high risk area by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention a week ago. The local government in Suihua has been reinforcing control measures for urban and rural residents in the area to avoid being held accountable by their superiors.

On January 20, local Time, Suihua City Suiling County, a residential community called “Hongshun Home“, committed suicide by jumping from a building. The next day, the community of Baoding in Hailun, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Suihua City, had another incident of someone hanging himself in the community sports ground.

The media has not yet exposed the specific circumstances of these two incidents, but after the relevant videos were made public by Chinese netizens on online social media platforms, many netizens questioned in their messages whether the local government had closed residents to their homes for too long, causing someone to commit suicide due to too much stress or facing insurmountable Life difficulties.

According to the mainland media, Wangkui County in Suihua City is also one of the most serious areas of the epidemic in mainland China at the moment. On January 19, local time, 16 officials and civil servants at all levels in Wangkui County were “held accountable” by the higher government for their ineffective prevention and control of the epidemic.

On the same day (January 19), Suihua Suiling County government issued a notice stating that the strictest control measures will be implemented for all urban and rural residents in the county starting at 00:00 on January 20.

The county’s main control measures include: 1. In addition to sickness for medical treatment, nucleic acid testing and other special circumstances, the county’s urban residents are prohibited from leaving their homes, rural residents are prohibited from leaving the courtyard door; 2. The residents of the district and township villages and towns need to live by grid members and the so-called “sinking cadres” to provide “point-to-point” shopping help.

The official announcement issued by Suiling County also stressed that the authorities will “deal with the upper limit from the heavy to the fast” for the so-called “nuisance” who “refuse to obey the requirements of the command and refuse to obey the staff management”; for those who travel without permission, they will be centrally isolated and pay for their own expenses, and hold the control service staff and their units responsible.

Hailun City also announced on January 19, from January 20 at 00:00, the city’s urban and rural personnel to implement the “closed household control”. Its main control measures are similar to those of Suiling County, in addition to the requirement that all residents are prohibited from going out and not allowing customers to store and other prohibitions, but also specifically prohibited from working in the township back to the city requirements. The city’s announcement concluded by emphasizing that violators of the control measures would be “dealt with quickly” by the public security authorities.

Many regions in mainland China have often introduced harsh control measures to prevent or slow the spread of the epidemic, but officials have shown little concern for the difficulties faced by people who have been confined to their homes for long periods of time.

In February and March of last year, the city of Wuhan in Hubei Province, China, was at the height of the Communist pneumonia epidemic, and the lack of concern for the survival of the people by the local government led to tragic events such as residents jumping from buildings, hanging themselves, or falling to their deaths from balconies during the closure.
