Demonstration regular “Kim Jong-un” was arrested in connection with the BB gun package.
In Hong Kong, the “version of Kim Jong-un” known as the Australian artist Lee Ho Hong (Howard X), was charged by the police with “possession of firearms and ammunition without a license”, earlier raided the door and arrested.
He criticized the police for abusive arrest, describing it as a political crackdown by the Chinese Communist Party, which he believed was related to his frequent demonstrations dressed as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his satirical remarks about Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping. Xi Jinping. He reported to the police station with a rocket-propelled grenade toy, mocking the absurdity of the police, saying, “Let’s see whose weapon is more lethal.
He was interviewed outside the airport police station on Wednesday (20), where he was holding a rocket launcher toy to mock the police arrests, laughing and saying “let’s see whose weapon is more lethal”.
Lee Ho Hong said: I am here reported to the police (now I am here to report to the police.) Let’s see what the police have to say. I especially brought a rocket launcher toy to see if they would charge me.
Lee Ho-hung said he was arrested on Oct. 28, 2020, by about 10 Hong Kong police officers who raided his Home. The police had a warrant to search his home and charged him with “possession of a firearm without a licence” in connection with a package containing a BB gun that was sent to the home in April 2020. Police found nothing at his home and did not take any evidence. He was then sent to the airport police station, not formally charged for the Time being, but had to pay bail of HK$3,000 and report to the airport police station every six weeks.

Lee Ho-hung: did not receive the package in question
The company’s personal Facebook page on Wednesday released the news of the previous door-to-door search. He pointed out that the police said someone had sent him the package in question, but he stressed that he had not received the package, and according to his understanding, BB guns are legal in Hong Kong, but the police said the BB gun in question was specially made, and the output energy exceeded the legal range of 2 joules, so it was considered the same category as real firearms.
The reporter asked why it took several months to issue a press release to disclose the incident? He said he did not think “will be so big thing”, thought the police is a misunderstanding, but in the dialogue with the police think unusual.
Lee Ho-hung said: I initially I did not know how to respond, I thought it was only a misunderstanding. I just think it’s ridiculous, why because of a toy gun, to mobilize 10 people to arrest me at home? They actually know who I am, I am an internationally renowned professional artist. The police showed me the gun, it was just a plastic gun, it looked very cheap. It was a complete waste of the police and a waste of my time.
As to whether the package in question was ordered by Lee Ho-hung himself, and why he did not receive the package? Lee said it was not convenient to respond, only that even if he had ordered, but also only a toy gun.
Lee Ho-hong repeatedly stressed that as a professional imitator of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, he used to use and own many replica BB guns, missiles and nuclear bombs for performance and filming purposes only. He believes that this is an arbitrary arrest for his sarcastic criticism of the Chinese Communist government over the past few years, which not only harasses him, but also allows him to have his fingerprints stolen, his iPhone confiscated, and his home searched.

Questioned the arrest of another purpose
The police told him that the arrest warrant came from another department higher up, saying “they were just doing their job”. During the conversation with the police, they mentioned his satirical outfits at the Hong Kong demonstrations in 2020, including images of him supporting demonstrators at the International Finance Centre on July 1 and Oct. 1. Lee Ho-hung thus questioned whether the arrest was not about the BB gun, but “another purpose.
Li said: “This arrest may be because someone is unhappy with my repeated sarcasm and criticism of the Chinese Communist Party and Xi Jinping in the past. In the past, I have often demonstrated with different people to ridicule figures around the world, including Trump, Xi Jinping and Carrie Lam. I was present at the demonstrations on July 1 (2020) and October 1. Now it’s the fallout.
Earlier, Lee Ho-hung had also been detained or deported from Singapore and Vietnam for his styling, but he felt very strongly about his arrest in Hong Kong this time, and described Hong Kong as no different from totalitarian countries such as North Korea.
I have been arrested in Singapore and deported from Vietnam before, but I have never been in Hong Kong where this kind of suppression happens. This is my hometown. It was originally a free city, but now it is slowly becoming like Pyongyang. I hope Hong Kong people will not give up. When the totalitarians put more pressure on democracy, it will only force the government to push the people to rebel.

Lee Ho-hung called on the people of Hong Kong not to give up in the face of suppression
Lee Ho-hung also said that originally a few years ago when Hong Kong was calm, intended to travel around the world, but saw the chaos in Hong Kong in recent years, decided to stay in this home, although the idea of leaving Hong Kong, but at this moment he still does not want to give up, hoping to go with the people of Hong Kong.
Australian citizenship Lee Ho-hung also revealed that the Australian government has not yet been assisted, has asked their own lawyers to assist, but he said that the current political situation in Hong Kong, do not think he will get fair judicial treatment.
The police received a report in April last year that an air gun, parts of a crossbow, some lead pellets and metal bullets were found in an airmail parcel. After an in-depth investigation, the Airport Police District Criminal Investigation Team 3 arrested a man surnamed Lee in October last year, suspected of possession of firearms, ammunition or firearms without a license.
According to existing Hong Kong legislation, any air gun (including long-gun type air guns, air guns or pistol type air guns) that can fire bullets or projectiles with a muzzle energy of more than 2 joules is a firearm. No person shall be in possession of such firearms or ammunition unless he holds a license to do so. A conviction is punishable by a fine of HK$100,000 and imprisonment for 14 years.

He has appeared on the streets of Hong Kong and at demonstrations, including the “anti-China” movement, in the guise of Kim Jong-un, often alongside Russell White, the American actor who plays Donald Trump, and has displayed props from time to time that satirize the Chinese Communist Party and Xi Jinping, the Communist Party’s General Secretary.
