“Mike Lindell, founder and CEO of MyPillow, said Tuesday (Jan. 19) that some organizations are forcing many major retail chains to remove his products from their vending lists. And he called on Americans to “stand up” against “cancel culture.
Lindell made the remarks in an interview with English-language New Tang Dynasty TV. He called on Americans to stand up to the “culture of cancellation. He said, “This is the Time we have to stand up. We have to stand up and not back down from the media and the ‘culture of cancellation. We can’t live in fear this time. We have to stand together. And I’m not talking about politics, I’m talking about people.”
He spoke about how major chains such as Bed Bath & Beyond and Wayfair recently informed him that their stores would not continue to carry My Pillow products. Lindell said the actions came after groups such as the radical left-wing group Sleeping Giant urged the retailers to stop doing business with him.
These groups were hired to attack and silence my company in order to eliminate ‘My Pillow,'” Lindell said. They’re attacking these people, like Bed Bath & Beyond, and they [the retailers] are caving in to the pressure, and it’s their choice. But, you know what, this is the time when we all have to rise up against it.”
Sleeping Giant is currently pressuring many companies to abandon conservative and right-of-center websites, such as Breitbart News and Fox News. They are tweeting about Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl’s no longer selling “my pillow” and claiming that Lindell pushed for the storming of the Capitol by questioning the outcome of the 2020 election.
Lindell said his products rank among the top three in boxed stores nationwide, but those companies are concerned about the impact on their business and are trying to distance themselves from him and his company.
Bed Bath & Beyond told The Epoch Times by email that they decided to stop selling My Pillow because of its “poor sales performance. However, a spokeswoman for the company said the decision to stop selling My Pillow was a recent one. And Lindell said his company is doing well, with direct sales of his products up 30 to 40 percent since Jan. 15.
I’m not going to back down,” Lindell said. Our country is at stake in this area. I grew up with and am a beneficiary of the American dream …… We are the greatest country in the world.”
Lindell founded the “My Pillow” brand in 2004 and established a business in Chaska, Minnesota.
